Hotmail pop3 details

I am trying to set up hotmail on my Sony Ericsson K800i. I have got the page of settings from o2, and can send (hurrah!), but cannot receive.

What is the correct incoming server setting for hotmail?

I'm pretty sure Hotmail dropped the option of being able to use POP3 and therefore only available via webmail or mobile internet.
Can you not navigate to Hotmail.com on your phone and view your mails there?

yes i can - and I can apparently send using the email function from my phone. Just wanted to do it all within the email application if that's possible.....

you need to pay for the service now i believe, unless your account is old then you get it for free.

They don't do POP3 support. A key reason to just ditch the service altogether IMO.

They have the sync with Windows Live Mail desktop client which is free, or with Outlook which obviously costs. So short of using one of the hacks out there these are your only options.

You can now get a link through Outlook for Hotmail accounts - there is a free download provided by Microsoft on their website called Outlook Hotmail Connector which works for Outlook 2003 and 2007.

Managed to get mine hooked up, it all works bar the calendar, which is fine by me. Emails don't come through automatically, you have to do a F9 Send/Receive to pick them up (or just set up an automatic send/receive every minute like I have!)

I know, thats what I said - The point about cost was that Outlook isn't free.

Wont work on the phone but there is a script called GetLive
http://sourceforge.net/projects/getlive
It can be used to download hotmail messages to your preferred email client.
