Sony HXD870 repeat a non series link recording each week

Hi

I have had this HXD870 PVR for a while and can’t find a way to record every week a TV program (Gadget Show) or a radio broadcast (radio 4 comedy) that is a NON series link in the digital EPG (its not selectable).

I contacted my supplier who supposedly phone Sony and they said it couldn’t be done. Can this be true in the 21st century when you could always do this before? BBC 1 & 2 always have the series link option and so far it works very well.

Does anybody know away round this?

Manual recording will do it for you. Press timer, then 'New Input' and input the time, channel and any padding you want to add, then on the day of the week go backwards (down) through the options to get to the 'every Thurs' etc bit. Its a bit old school, but it works (and the recording will not disappear, unlike if you use the EPG too far in advance). Hope this helps.
