Series Recording

Dear Group i have a Sony RDR-HXD870 DVD Player/Recorder connected to my new Samsung TV. I tried out the "Series Recording" function to record all the episodes of Corrie (yes i know, sad)

Anyways, for the first dozen or so times it worked perfectly, starting up just a moment before the program and stopping just a moment after.
However, the last 4 episodes it hasn't started until 5 mins after the program started! Now i wouldn't like to think that it's playing up already, i hope it's not that. But i wondered if the program itself might be at fault. I imagine there's some kind of signal sent through the aether to start the recorder, it seems a mystery to me.

Can some kind soul shed some light on it for me and possibly tell me why I'm missing the start of the programs now please?

Many Thanks
Chris Green

I'm new to this too, having only got my machine last Friday, but have you got 'EPG Link' turned on so that it can make adjustments to existing timers as it goes along? As far as I can see, without it switched on, you take it on trust that the programmes in the series are all going to have exactly the same timings.
