How does this relate to Leon, Sean or indeed anyone from the X Factor at all?

I remember him. He was the runner-up in Fame Acadamy 2 (lost to Alex Parks) He had a decent voice, but was nothing special and had zero stage presence. He did come across as a nice guy off-stage, though.

Richard Park could give Cowell and co a masterclass in hype.

I suppose. I had wondered. He's better looking though and a better singer and performer than both of them.

He was the guy Simon liked.

I saw him after FA performing with his band and he's got a great voice and they completely robbed him of his performance ability on the show. He was so much better when I saw him than they seemed to have let him be. Mind you, that was the biggest preplanned victory of all-time * . No offence to Alex Parks but under the circumstances I'm glad things didn't work out for her.

Anyway, back on track ........................

Oh, I remember Alistair and he was quite good. Richard Park was always on about him haiving a nasal sound. He's good though.

Alex Park was something else. I got her first album. Don't know what happened to her since (she was very young).

Sinead Quinn was a talented girl and has a great following back home in Northern Ireland. There is still time.

David Sneddon, who wrote such smashing songs, became disillusioned with the music business and wanted to go back to to be quiet and do his own thing. It happens. Nice guy, you'd never have guess ed that would happen he was so lively in the Fame academy.

Lemar, of course, has been a success story and continues to be so.

I liked Fame Academy very much, wish they'd bring it back and not just for celebs and charity.

I thought the answer to this might be the X factor's first gay wedding!

Of course it was all fixed for her to win. I remember on the final when they had every single "BBC personality" in the audience telling Cat who they wanted to win...

"Who do you want to win?"
"Alex of course"

"Who do you want to win?"
"Has to be...Alex!"

"Who do you want to win?"
"Er...I think I'm going to go for...Alex"

Is that the one who tried to rhyme 'coffee' with 'cafe'? Or the one that Robin Gibb made a record with?

Lemar was the only good thing to come from that show. And the judges were horrendous.

Alex Park was something else. I got her first album. Don't know what happened to her since (she was very young).
I didn't like Alex at all. Her foghorn voice made everything sound the same and her performance skills consisted of just standing there. There were far better singers and performers (and very importantly, writers which is what separated FA from PS, PI, XF, etc) than Alex - not least Alistair.

Alex was 19 at the time of Fame Academy. She is 23 now.

She never showed any enthusiasm for the industry (she didn't even want to enter the competition - her dad did it for her) so it was no surprise to see the way things turned out.

Sinead Quinn was a talented girl and has a great following back home in Northern Ireland. There is still time.
Sinead is playing the role of Beth in the live UK tour of 'The War of the Worlds' next month.

David Sneddon, who wrote such smashing songs, became disillusioned with the music business and wanted to go back to to be quiet and do his own thing. It happens. Nice guy, you'd never have guess ed that would happen he was so lively in the Fame academy.
David returned to performing. He is lead singer in a band now.

I liked Fame Academy very much, wish they'd bring it back and not just for celebs and charity.
They shot themselves in the foot with the way they handled the last series. It was one of the most blatant pieces of bias ever televised.

Not least Daniel Bedingfield's infamous outburst when asked to comment after both the finalists had duetted with him - no comment on Alistair whatsoever, just "People should just vote for Alex".

Is that the one who tried to rhyme 'coffee' with 'cafe'? Or the one that Robin Gibb made a record with?

Lemar was the only good thing to come from that show. And the judges were horrendous.
Alistair was the one Robin Gibb made a record with. He also duetted with and supported Robin on his tour. The one who rhymed cafe with coffee was David Sneddon.

I agree the judges were atrocious and I do think Lemar is great but Alistair's talent as a singer and performer was never given the real chance to shine in the series. They gave each contestant the chance to list up to 50 songs that they would like to perform on the series out of which they only allowed him to perform one - in many cases giving the excuse that the song wasn't right for the show or they didn't have the rights to the song, only for the same song to then be given to another contestant, more often than not Alex or Peter. It was obvious from the start that Alex was the chosen one and Alistair was seen as a huge threat.

BTW, I can see what you mean about Leon + Sean. I actually think all three of them look like the MacDonald Brothers.
