Ported Number Due Today - No Coverage!
Just a quick one
I rang Orange with my PAC code from Vodafone last week and they said it would be done on the 28th Nov This morning I've no signal at all and if I ring my new number (which I've been using before my old vodafone number was ported) the line goes dead and the number I wish to port goes straight through to Vodafone voicemail How long on the actual day should porting take? |

Wouldn't you be better asking Orange?

it can take 24 hours for the port to fully go through, ensure you have both phones switched off and keep trying to switch your new handset on every hour

Yeah. similar experience. I was told that it could take a couple of hours and at anytime before 6.00pm on the day of port and I would be without service for a while.
In the end, old phone switched off just after lunch - can't remember the time exactly, I just noticed that it had switched off at some point around lunchtime. The new phone was up and running at just after four, with a flurry of network texts. D |

D *BEEP BEEP: Network Message please delete* Wss a bit annoying cos I'd had my balance alerts and voicemail switched off also I had had to contact O2 cos my MMS wasnt enabled and when my number ported it reset my account and I had to do it all again. But once its done its all good
