Album sales of around 3k usually is enough to make the top 5 in those countries

Oh OC, I don't care, I love him, and plus he's doing the name of X Factor proud, our last two winners are gonna be 1-2 in the charts, beating my beloved Kylie

Shayne's sales and success abroad was quoted during his VT intro when he appeared on XF a couple of weeks ago.

Sadly, many people in this country think that if they don't hear or see an artist for no more than a couple of months they must have disappeared off the face of the earth. When do they expect these people to be appearing on TV shows abroad or touring abroad or recording if they expect them to be visible on our screens all the time? A lot of people who go into showbiz go into it for the "downtime". Unlike the rest of us they don't have to work 52 weeks of the year.

That's nonsense. Japan is the second largest music market in the world after the US and the money that can be made in China and other Asian countries these days needs no explanation.
