I'd go to Richer Sounds and have a listen. You get what you pay for.

The only time you should buy speakers online is if you have listened to a pair in real life first. They are such an important part of the overall sound of your system that not listening to a pair verges on madness

Also sound is a very subjective thing. So what ticks all the boxes for one person might not match your tastes.

Agreed.

My speakers *look* similar to that but one of my floorstanders cost about double what that whole set costs. (From Richer Sounds funnily enough)

For that money, I wouldn't expect them to be up to much to be honest.

I know what you mean, after all my pair of speakers cost 10 times what you paid for yours...

It isn't the price you pay for the speakers that's necessarily important, it's whether you think they are worth the price you paid for them.

But I would certainly recommend listening to any speakers, or any hi-fi, first before you buy.

In the grand scheme of things, my speakers weren't actually that expensive. A sinlge floor stander that cost more than £45 (so could have been £50 or £500 .... I didn't say) is hardly bragging about a super expensive piece of kit .... so you can keep you rolly-eyes to yourself thank you very much.

But £45 for a full set like that is below dirt cheap ... hence why I wouldn't expect much.
