HDMI and analogue out at the same time?

I have a Philips DVDR5500, which upscales sd dvd`s. If I select 720p or 1080i, I lose the sound from the analogue outs. This is nessesary as I use a stereo amp. Is this standard with all HDMI equiped hardware? Are there any players that do both at the same time?

Don't know but I use Digital Optical (or Coax) for sound to my AV amp and that is not cut out when using HDMI 720p.

is this the same model that you have?

No idea on Philips, but generally on normal DVD players you can set either analogue audio or digital audio, you can't have both. So see if there's a menu option to select analogue audio - presumably it's supplying digital audio via the HDMI lead?.

No option for analogue output. Only `all` or `pcm` on HDMI. I have noticed in the manual that if you select the hd output (720p or 1080i), the scart output switches off too, and the analogue with it. Is there a dvd player that allows hd hdmi video and analogue stereo sound at the same time?
