Generally speaking Americans are fair in terms of the best people winning or appreciated. Its a culture thing, You work hard and you are rewarded but we tend to go with ''do we like the Individual'' rather than did they deserve it.
I know we should not compare reality TV programme to real life but I think we have different attitiude to success. Sometimes we have people who are successful in their field not necessarily about them being brilliant at what they do but how well we like them.
