I so agree with you and that is in no way meant against Alesha personally because I blame the judges. It ruins the whole competition when somebody is so obviously the judge's favourite and overmarked.

And she is indeed ALWAYS near or at the end, the last 4 weeks: 3 times last and 1 time second to last. She has only been first out once and that was one of her lowest scores.

Gethin was the main man tonight.

I do agree with those who say they've been to many 10's this series. It's making it less special.

Thought Arlene was out of order with her comments to Ola. And Kenny and Ola's rumba wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I'm sorry that you are so sick that you are think you are dying. On a programme such as SCD, the celebrities are being judged as CELEBRITIES on an entertainment programme. Unsurprisingly not as professionals appearing at the World Championship at Blackpool.

The audience boo any score below a 5 (even 6 or 7), so 10s are inevitable. I always try to keep some perspective and look to the leaderboard (the only important score, as that is how points are awarded by the judges).

I've commented before about a possible reason for Alesha's late positioning in the dance list. Its going to be a Programme Producers decision. They are interested in ratings (against X-Factor). Do they care who gets them those ratings - no - so no favouritism, just ratings.

Hmm, just watched the show. My thoughts:

Matt and Flavia - tango was ok. He looked petrified all the way through it, not my favourite of his dances. Wasn't mad about the rumba either, I do agree with the judges on his great arms though. I thought his marks were fairly spot on tonight. Don't like his attitude though.

Gethin and Camilla - Loved the waltz, thought it was amazing, although I'm sick of them consistently dishing out 10s for dances that aren't perfect. Having said that based on what people are getting 10s for recently the scores were fair enough. Their salsa - I'm in two minds. Loved Gethin's performance, but thought Camilla was OTT and there wasn't enough salsa, it was a bit too samba-y.

Letitia and Darren - Sorry, but I really didn't like either of her dances tonight, particularly the cha-cha. The quickstep was ok, but a bit too slow. The cha-cha was just dreadful, thought it was really overmarked. Fairplay to her though for coming out and performing when she was so ill, I don't think I could have done it.

Kenny and Ola - Liked the foxtrot and actually quite liked the rumba too. Their connection in the rumba was beautiful, I had a lump in my throat. I agree that he didn't have much to do but what he did he did well. Thought he was undermarked, I would have put him above Tish.

Alesha and Matt - Really liked the tango but not so much the samba. Think it's unfair that she's being held to a different standard than the others. The samba didn't deserve a 10, it was good, but not great. The singer was godawful too.

Also, what was Arlene on tonight?

Oh deep and utter joy, I have the internet back at home for the first time ths series, my fingers are itching and ready to go.

Tonight I loved Geth, adored Kenny, enjoyed Matt, Aleasha and Leticia. I still voted only for Kenny. Aleasha's dancing was below the level she had done before, ditto Matt and Leticia, which is understandable, with previous high scores and illness abounding. Geth and Kenny are on journeys and I am not ashamed to say that it is the journey I end up voting for, the unexpected person who surprises you.

Just a quick thanks to all the random funny comments that are dotted throughout this thread - they make me smile!
I have just got through reading everyone's comments (phew!) and mostly agree with what's been said.
Matt - quite liked his tango but not his best dance. Was more impressed by the rhumba - thought he did a very good job!
Gethin - thought his waltz was just lovely, guessed that he'd probably get some tens (loved his face!). His salsa was SO entertaining - I've watched him on Blue Peter and he is never that extrovert! It was so much fun but I did agree with the lower scores as I think it lost some technique becuase of the "wooohooness" (sorry had to make up a word!)
Tish - I felt for her tonight. I so wanted her to do well but it just didn't quite happen and she really did look unwell. Well done to Darren for looking after her so well - when she ran off you could see he just wanted to go and check if she was alright I think she could wel be out this week
Kenny - pleasantly suprised by both dances. His foxtrot was pretty good and he acted the rhumba very well. I agreed with Craig, though, that there were too few dance steps. I did love the music for it though which helped my opinion!
Alesha - I know it's not her fault but I felt she was overmarked in her samba. I found the beginning and end of her tango very dramatic but it lagged in the middle. Still great though. I thought she just looked tired in the samba - wasn't loving it as much as she usually seems to. She is still the best dancer overall but personally I think Gethin was the best this week.

Couldn't agree more- and I have said as much elsewhere.

Also to me it sounded like, and looked like, the tempo for A&M's samba was not the one they had rehearsed to!

Flavia & Matt: wasn't impressed with either their tango or rumba tbh, although he looked like he was going to cry. The tango just didn't work for me, the mood of the dance was absent. The rumba - I really wanted to like, as the only good male rumba I can remember is Colin and it would be nice to see another good'un.. but it just looked awkward and disjointed (which Flavia's brilliance only unfortunately emphasised). I reckon the scores for both dances evened out as about right.

Gethin and Camilla: preferred their waltz to salsa. Waltz was lovely, floaty, romantic - couldn't fault it, and it seemed for the first time like he meant it. Everybody else on here seems to have loved their salsa.. and on the one hand it was great to see him actually perform and move his hips with confidence, but on the other it was just too wild & seemed to lack any control. If anything I would have given the salsa straight 8s... ooh controversial?

Letitia and Darren: unless she gets the sympathy vote, seems destined for the bottom 2. Quickstep wasn't quick.. Cha Cha was leaden. I do like her though & she was indeed on the verge of throwing up but still managing to dance, and she should definitely stay over Kenny.

Kenny and Ola: IMO he should've left weeks ago. Foxtrot was an improvement, but he's still so far behind. Rumba, I was expecting an awful embarrasment but was pleasantly surprised - although, this is possibly because Ola gave him so little to do in the routine. Arlene's comments to Ola were pretty awful IMO, whether she meant them as they sounded or not.

Alesha and Matthew: I really fear the backlash factor. Unlike Zoe/Emma in particular who've suffered before, I think she has very obvious likeability which I hope saves her from this becoming too extreme. I really liked their tango, and was pleased that both of them were able to pull of the mood convincingly. However, I was disappointed by their samba and wishwishwish that Len hadn't given a 10 - it just seemed a bit out of sync and lacking in energy to me. I still currently see her as the deserving winner of this though, and unless Gethin or Matt find consistency will continue to do so. I am really worried she's actually putting too much pressure on herself and is going to seriously begin to suffer from it.

So my rankings:
Gethin (based on waltz being best dance of night)
Alesha
Matt
Kenny
= Letitia (but would prefer her to stay over Kenny)

Personally I though, performance wise, Alesha's samba was dull. And Gethin's Salsa was much,much,much better performance, if maybe not technical wise.

I agree with this - everyone should be judged against the same standards, not personal potential.

Alesha was not on top form tonight but I suspect it is because she is feeling the strain of all the expectation every time she dances, especially with comments like "I expect perfect footwork from you", etc.

Although I'm an Alesha fan it was definitely Gethin's night tonight - he was hot, hot hot!

I think Matt looked upset because he made errors in the dance (which is why he was mouthing "I'm so sorry" to Flavia) - I hope he doesn't get voted out though.

I felt very sorry for Tish who was clearly ill tonight (what ever the cause) - I don't think it was put on, I think it was genuine.

Kenny has come on in leaps and bounds but as much as I hate to say it, he is way below the standard of the remaining celebs.

As the old show-biz cliche "The show must go on" & given what has happened to Kelly, that's what they did, but a brave face on, smile & try to dance & entertain to their best ability.
Thought very well handled the bit at the beginning about Kelly AND to talk to Brendan & acknowledge his contribution to this (and every other year!) SCD - Glad they did that - because IMO Of course it was difficult & emotional for Kelly but in fairness it HAD to have been a very emotional & difficult week for Brendan. Hope he dances in the Pro Group dance in the Results show.

Thought Arelene's comments to Ola were a bit Bi**chy and a bit hurtfull! - Wouldn't you think they all learned their lesson from last week??!!

Just watched the programme. Thought Gethin was wonderful. Can't believe he is a non dancer. Aleysha is having to much pressure put on her and it's showing, but still love her. Think Matt is a bit of a spoilt brat and he makes mistakes every week. Poor Letitia, fancy being ill and having wardrobe dressing you like that. Kenny awwwwwwwww, love him.

For me, the whole show felt a bit flat tonight
I think that's only to be expected though- the step up to two dances is always a hard one... I think next week will be a different matter, because they'll be slightly more used to training for two dances.
Really liked Gethin's waltz and Alesha's tango. Thought they were a bit harsh to Kenny this week. Poor Matt after last weeks high- he's suffered a bit of a blow to his confidence- I hope he can regain it if he's back next week. Honestly thought Gethin's was doing the samba- Obviously a bit of a dance pleb!
I think the leaderboard is just about right though, so no real complaints.
Think the dance off will either be Matt/Letitia or Letitia/Kenny....

Agree with others - a flat sort of a show tonight. Very disappointed in Matt and Flavia, awful choreography in the tango and the rhumba was blah and Alesha and Matthew , the last few seconds of their tango was AMAZING, rest was bland choreographically I thought and the Samba lacked something and her footwork is so limp and sloppy. Overmarked on the whole for me.

Letitia had an awful week, bless her and Kenny was as Kenny as ever which is to say, rather rubbish but trying hard.

Gethin was NEWGETHIN and I loved it. GO GETHIN!..........at last.

Gethin definitely deserves to be the top of the leaderboard tonight! He had a full-time job and still managed to pull off two fantastic routines. Kudos to Camilla's coaching and his dedication.

i loved their tango i thought it was great i think people are critical of her samba because it wasnt as brilliant as some of her other dances but i still thought it was better than a lot of other peoples dances i think she should have got 4 9s not a ten or an 8

I think Arlene should publicly apologise to Ola for her comments, likening a professional dancer to a pole dancer is humiliating for Ola and then bringing her nationality into Kenny's performance really did her no favours.

Gethin and Camiila I thought were fantastic and deserved the 10's for that waltz, it was by far his best performance yet and I'm loving the "New Gethin"

You could see Letitia was really ill and I really felt sorry for the poor woman, it must have been really awful trying to perform when not feeling you're best. I also felt the judges were slightly harsh and also hypocritical, eg Alrene again.

Matt and Flavia were good but the dances didn't make an impact like some of the others in the past have done.

Alesha and Matt, maybe overmarked as I personally don't think they were her best dances, but again they were fabulous and she performed.

I've watched alesha's samba a couple of times without the music and a bit more bounce it would have been out of this world

I preferred Gethin's salsa to his waltz actually, the waltz didn't blow me away particularly but thought he was great in the salsa

Two dances definitely stretched them this week. Only Gethin really stepped up his game. Thought his waltz was lovely. After the first round, although I didn't necessarily agree with the marks, I thought the order the contestants were in was right. But I didn't think this week Alesha deserved to be joint first. The samba looked a bit leaden, and I wondered if she'd gone wrong and had trouble finding her place, as half way through, they didn't seem to be dancing together any more.
Kenny was much better than I'd expected. A bad rumba can be embarrassing to watch, but this was fine.
Didn't really like Letitia's dances, but I'll cut her some slack as she was ill.

I watched the show today as I was out last night and for some reason I wasn't particularly looking forward to it but I absolutely loved it!

Loved gethin's waltz, Alesha's tango, Letitia's QS, Kenny's foxtrot and Matt's rumba. The rest of the dances weren't brilliant but were still good to watch.

Looking forward to the results show too.
