Can anyone help - I'm looking for a wireless 5.1 speaker system to connect to my PS3 and SkyHDBox, but all the models I can find come with an upscaling DVD player or similar.

I don't need this and just want the speaker system (which would be cheaper).

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The surround amp would have to have a HDMI out for video to connect to your TV. A decent amp will also switch video inputs with the sound source as well but will be more expensive.

If you are on a tight budget then you probably need to go with a surround amp that has 5.1 optical inputs for the sound and keep the HDMI connections for the TV only.

Hi

its ok to have power cables running to the speakers as you can hide that behind furniture or the couch.. but speaker cables running from tv across the lounge to the speakers would look stupid..

Do any amplifiers have that build in?

you can hide speaker wire easier than thicker power cables

they can be stapled on top of skirting board, or run under the edge of the carpet?

its a personal choice , it all depends where you have power sockets
