is it just me? i can't believe how bad the singers are on scd. they are at best average karaoke singers. do you agree? if not i will get my ears tested.

Really? I was just thinking what a good job the female singer(s) did tonight.

They seemed to be much better in previous years.

Are they all the same in the US version? - maybe tired, or crappy songs?

Maybe we should have the option to vote the singers off next week and then we would get a three couple final

Not another thread about the woes of the singers!

I thought they did well for what was given to them to sing tonight.

End of.

I think some of the songs are particularly tough. That Gwen stefani song was hurting my ears but even Gwen would probably need some pitch correction to sing that live.

My ears have only just stopped bleeding!!

They were awful tonight and I don't think they helped with some of the performances. Vote off the singers this week

I honestly thought that the singers were much better tonight than previous shows. Especially a particular female, who usually screeches but sang great tonight IMO.

I'm sorry but I agree that the singers are awful - in fact I think they've been dire throughout the series.

Those singers are awful - especially that female one who sounds like someone chain-sawing a cat.

They murder every song.

I was being a little flippant there. So I apologise.

But I still disagree with you about the singers. They are still 10X better than those wannabes in ITV...

That's the benchmark, is it?

Sorry but I have to agree I have just caught up over the last couple of days with scd on sky+, and maybe it's with the mics or the a tech problem with the sound but even mrs stinkie has said that there was a female screechy singer over this last serise, but overall they are very good, as always, but I think one of them maybe a little off.

Sorry to be negative.

I really didn't envy the poor woman who had to sing 'What you waiting for?'.

I've seen Gwen Stefani sing it live twice and even she couldn't pull it off - she sings about one line out of every three, and the backing singers take the rest. It's just one of those songs that's meant to be a high production piece, not a sing-a-long number.

I think the SCD singers do a pretty good job, considering the variety of songs they have to deal with.

I think they are all fine, bar that one girl who hasn't had a decent performance all series so far. Far enough Gwen Stafani's song was tough but she has murdered a lot of others.

It ruins the dance, and my enjoyment when they screw it up. I can't mute it, its not the same, and if I leave the sound on I get distracted by the awful singing.

One question - back in series three, was Alison Jiear one of the female vocalists? I love her voice, and I vaguely remember Craig praising her once.

If so, why did she leave?

I'm not sure whether it's one or both of the female singers but someone is absolutely awful and murders every song they sing. It can really ruin a performance.

If you look up thier webpages you'll see and hear that they are better than 90% of the chart toppers, in fact i heard that one of the female singers was coaching Kylie Monogue next week

Sorry to say, Kylie is a performer, not really a singer in the true sense of the word.

That's a bit of a silly comparison really, because half of the stuff in the charts these days is that awful 'thump-thump' music, which uses remixed vocals, so obviously they are going to be better than them.

Its just that one girl is so screechy, and she has a way of singign so you can barely hear what the words are.

I reckon they've had a couple of changes to the female singer line-up. One of them in particular is awful.

They have - Jiear's a blonde, and I'm fairly sure back then both the female singers were blondes. Now one of them's black, and if I remember, the other's a white brunette.
