Is Sky HD worth the cost?

I have just got my first LCD (Panasonic 32LXD700) and am delighted with it but there is a problem with pixellation depending on the channel and broadcast.

I am currently using a Humax Freeview PVR and wonder am I likely to see much improvement if I got Sky HD or is it not worth it for a TV of this size?

Well first SKY HD is only a selection of channels and truth be told Freeview broadcasts have a slight edge in terms of SD picture quality over Dsat broadcasts.

The actual HD content will really make the LCD shine and 32" is fine for HD but as always the overall effect is dependent of viewing distance.

I would question the value of SKY HD since you are not already a SKY subscriber and would be starting from scratch so to speak in terms of going from £0 a month to anything upto £55 a month

If you wait a while then Freesat will be out (expected Spring next year) and will be non-subscription.

And Humax indeed will have a Freesat HD PVR out!
