I could not get through once to vote for Janice on final night. ITV deny any problems in the Daily Star.

I got through but it was very tough I had to keep the phone on redial and had at least a dozen attempts before being successful. I understand the Biggins phone line or multiple phone lines in his case were easily accessible. Methinks me smells a rat and on at least this occasion I don't mean Bannerman.

I'm beginning to think that all votes cast for TV shows should be completely transparent and handled by a third party that is 100% independent of the TV company's

I asked the BBC if the system gave them a record of failed calls that the system couldn't handle on the Maria show where the same thing happened and never got a reply. If they don't have a record of failed votes they will just say we don't think there was a problem and its fair because calls to both finalists probably couldn't be connected. There is no proof of there being a problem because the system doesn't generate it. The problem is that if the capacity is limited per contestant the system is more likely to jam on the person who is most popular - they get more calls and the people who can't get through keep the system jammed by redialing.

If someone wanted to you could also shape the winner - if you know from polls that X is going to get 20000 votes a minute and y is going to get 40000 you can make X win by setting the number of lines that can be handled at a level that will let 20000 through but jam if 40000 people try. Similarly if you want contestant X to win a show where each contestant performs in turn you could put contestant X on early where they have plenty of time to accumalate votes after their performance and contestant y gets put on near the end with only a limited number of minutes to acquiire votes at the same maximum rate per minute.

No problem whatsoever for me or anyone I know.

As the phone lines were open from the night before, isn't it quite possible that Biggins polled more in the previous 24 hours ?

Biggins win is consistent with the biggest poll on the internet from AOL which called it exactly right.

It took me several attemps to register my vote, over a 30 min period and subsequently did not vote as much as I would have liked.

I just love it when people refuse to accept that not everybody thinks like them, that there must be a conspiracy against their opinion.

They don't care who wins, nobody at ITV has any significant stake in who wins, it really doesn't matter to them.

The idea that they'd willingly limit phone lines (and revenue) just so that a "mate" can win it is ludicrous.

Stop your whining, Janice didn't get enough votes to win it. That's it.

Regardless of whom you were voting for. If you could not register your vote,it proves ITV''s statement that all votes were registered is incorrect.

You got to love all the conspiracy theories about IACGMOH.

Just maybe Biggins won because he was the most popular or the least offensive of the finalists.

I always thought it doesnt matter who wins as there is nothing to be gained from winning, however after seeing so much hype on ITV for Biggins I am left wondering why it was so important to all his show biz chummies for him to win
There has to be more in winning than just a crap crown, if it's a game with a prize then it should be a level playing field, the other contestants were cheated IMO

This is nothing to do with the final but on Thursday night when I voted for Cerys to stay over J, i couldnt get through to the phone lines. It took me 4 attempts before I finally got through. I dont know if it was a fix or just the fact that the phone lines were jammed because so many people were voting for her.

I wrote on here at the time that I got through once then it was "engaged" and I managed to get through again. I tend to vote twice for Finals but, it does make me wonder if people who just put in the one vote and get the engaged would they bother again?
