Could this be one of the strongest finals?
Series 1- Steve/G4
Series 2- Shayne/Andy/Journey South Series 3- Leona/Ray Series 4- Rhydian/Niki/Same Difference/Leon (obv still to be decided) My point is, series 1-3 have had someone who is way ahead of in popularity than the other(s) and someone who is way ahead in terms of vocal ability, although G4 were better than Steve and never won. Bar series 1, the finalists have also in some way appealed to the same audience, whereas in the current final 4 there couldn't be a more different set of finalists. Rhydian and Niki have fantastic vocal ability and Leon has good vocals to make it in the business. Same Difference aren't the best but they clearly have a big fan base and will do well off the back og the show. So from what looked set to be one of the worst series in the shows history, could the final redeem it and be one of the strongest finals in terms of vocal ability and diversity? |

Not seeing your logic here completely. How was Ray more popular than Leona? I'd say she was ahead in terms of vocal abilitiy and popularity, unlike Ray she was never in the bottom 2 the entire competition. And her album has easily outsold his after X-factor so not sure how you worked out that he was more popular.
Same with Shayne/Andy/Journey South actually. Who was ahead in popularity and vocal ability here as they all had good voices and were popular? |

I think this will be one of the most exciting finals, due to none of the acts having been in the bottom two - you just can't judge popularity this year.

I think these acts are fairly evenly matched so it will be interesting.

Steve/G4 was the closest. I don't think Rhydian has that type of competition. I was both pleased and surprised that Steve won.
And I think it was Sharon's rant that finally did it for him.... |

I agree on none of them have been bottom two, and that makes this much more interesting as no one really knows who has polled the most votes each week, you can all sit and guess and could be very wrong. People thought Gareth had the most votes every week and that was wrong. Journey South had polled highest for several weeks until the final and ended up third, I do not believe all the bookies say either.
I think this time round more people will be pinned to their seats as none of us know who will go this week, and even then when only left with 3 who will end up third. Would be a shock would it not should Rhydian go home this week, but it could happen you know, there is no such thing as a dead cert unless your name is Leona Lewis! |

Steve won every week as Sharon said in her book so her Rant never one it for him.
I think this year they are now way as good as the other years. |

But I think from the first live show where everyone was complaining about the standard, the show has drastically improved over the last couple of weeks but maybe that is because the talentless ones have gone (except Same Difference IMO but they have fans) and it makes you wonder did we actually have this talent in the first few weeks but the rest of them dragged the good ones down? |

I never said that. I absolutely loathed Ray and I thought he was useless and in no way deserved a place in the final. Leona was a lot better

Oh I think I get what you mean, they had someone in the final who got there more so because of their popularity and not their vocal talent?

The voting staff actually came out and said G4 were winning until her rant, when suddenly all of Steve's lines were jammed with voters.

Well yes, she's hardly going to admit that she made him win when she hated him so much, is she? Consider the source.

IMO can't see the Shayne/Andy/Journey South final being beaten. Wasn't this the closest final ever? I'm sure they said there was only 1.25 % between Andy and Shayne in the end.

Well not sure I believe what they say, and notice we are not getting from Dermot this year how close the voting is, as I think they have been told to stop doing it as many times they have lied about it in the past, and they are being closely watched due to all this rigged voting that has gone on, even on Blue Peter!
Journey South were in the lead til the ad break, then it all changed, if you can believe that, as I say I am cynical in what I chose to believe. On Steve the same G4 were reportedly ahead til Sharon had her outburst. On Leon any one voting for the lad will know his lines are jammed every week, and it is a right job to get thru to even vote. |

I think it's a very weak final, though perhaps it's strong by X Factor standards.
I'm finding it hard to get excited about any of them, and Same Difference are the only ones left whose performances are (sometimes) ones I enjoy. |

I very much doubt Rhydian would go home this week..........the songs chosen are going to be extra special I expect, and I think we will be back to some more Rhydian power ballads - no gimmicks just him and a spotlight. Which will, of course, blow all the competition out of the water I predict Niki will leave.

I don`t think we can surmise anything from that...........Rhydian`s lines are more often than not engaged too

Don't get this thread, I thought it was common knowledge that Rhydian is seen as the favourite to win, yes its close to see who will be second, but in terms of a close final I think XF2 was the one you could not call easily

Rhydian/Niki/Same Difference would make a very good final. Rhydian is the hot favourite, Same Difference would be doing it for the kids and Niki would be doing it for the older females.
