The Final 4, Who actually needs to win the most?
Of the 4 remaining contestants I would imagine all 4 will release at least 1 record. But to make an actuall career for themselves who needs to win more than the others?
Both Rydian and Leon have a very big fanbase and I would expect both will carve a career out for themselves. Neither of them are mainstream artists but both have their strong points. Classical Crossover and Jazz are both quite popular at the moment so the market is there for them both. Same Difference will end off in kids TV just like Sam and Mark. They are both vey likeable and will release a few cheesey tracks, Maybe even the Eurovision entry this year. Of the remaining 4 I would say Niki needs to win the most. Despite having IMO the 2nd best Voice in the competition I see her struggling to compete for a share of the market with the likes of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey without having the tag of Xfactor winner on her side. Without it I see an album out in time for mothers day and little else. I would be interested in other peoples thoughts. |

I'd say Leon, Niki and SD ALL need to win X Factor to achieve success at singing. Rhydian has a music career already made, but the others are lacking any clout.
Leon & SD might do an album, but they will disappear quickly like Ray Quinn. Niki is like Beverley - I can't see them doing anything in music without winning. |

I think Rhydian needs to win because of all the bloody pressure that has been put on him. I think SD will have a good career anyway, and i dont really think Niki will have a very good career either way - no offence, i do like her voice.
I think Leon needs to win as well, because he needs that boost and that recognition to get him up there. If he doesnt win i dont think he will come to much IMO. |

Rhydian doesn`t need to win - if he went out Saturday (not that he will) there would be a bidding war from record companies to sign him (not that Sony/BMG WOULD let him go) and he would have west end producers tripping over themselves to sign him. The rest of them I would say need to win to achieve anything equal to Ray/Ben/The Macs from last year (because we all know not in a million years would they equal Leona`s massive sales). The problem with Leon is that his genre of music jazz/swing does not equate to his young teen fanbase (who I suspect are voting on his "cuteness" appeal as much as anything ...............will they actually go out and buy his type of music in preference to pop ? Doubt it. SD could well go into kids TV and panto. Niki may do a Jayne Macdonald and work the cruise ships. As Simon Cowell said, it`s all about finding a star with the potential to achieve international success - can you honestly, hand on heart say that anyone apart from Rhydian has the potential for that ?

None of them need to win. They'd all love to win and would benefit from it but its not as if the rest of their lives will be completely miserable if the dont get the most votes in what is essentially an overhyped tv talent show.
I like the x factor but thats what it is really |

Niki. I doubt we have heard the last of the other 3 regardless of placing.

Have said it before and it still stands: I think Rhydian and Same Difference are the acts most likely to do well out of X Factor, wherever they place - it will just be in a different way to previous winners. I think SD are perfectly placed to move into TV (a la S Club perhaps?), and who knows where that will take them? Rhydian will probably be more of an album-selling artiste than anything, and good luck to him.
![]() I have a hunch that Leon would need the validation of an 'X Factor winner' tag on any single / album to do really well, but he will probably have a similar career trajectory to Ray Quinn crossed with the MacDonald Brothers in the next year anyway. I just can't see Niki winning or even achieving the same level of success of Brenda Edwards, but she should get some bookings out of the show. At least she should be able to give up the dinner-ladying.

I think Nikki and Leon would need the win most. Rydian will get signed up whatever and I think Same Difference will get to release a novelty record.

Leon does.
Rhydian is going to be huge whatever happens at this point. SD have a (perhaps short-lived) career ahead of them being a novelty/kiddie act (this isn't a criticism, I do like them) Niki has a good voice but that it is. She may get a few gigs every now and then in bars and so on but she's never going to be a superstar, whether she wins or not. Leon needs to win the most. He has a very good voice but lacks the personality and charisma to succeed on his own. He may end up doing the rounds like Ray is now but he's not really a star, is he? Leon will end up exactly the same unless he wins, IMO. |
