RHYDIAN wins ££££££6 Figure Recording Contract
According to yesterday's Daily Mail (Tahira Yaqoob) Rhydian is said to be considering the 6 figure offer.
It does seem rather odd that Rhydian has been awarded a recording contract before the end of the competition and it must be frustrating for Niki, Leon etc to know they have lost already and all their future performances will be in vain. |

That isn't true. Record companies are not allowed to approach someone while they are still under contract with the X Factor. Rhydian is getting more and more nervous because he believes only winning will get him a deal - obviously he has heard nothing of the sort.

If Rhydian has been offered a deal it will be from Simon Cowell only as no other record company would be allowed to by Cowell who will get first choice of anyone from this series.

As people have said, people are under contract by X Factor until after the live tours, when they're all released. C'mon, the Daily Mail is hardly reliable...

But the point is, if people believe he's 'sorted' will they bother to vote for him....just a thought.
I have no idea if this is true, but of course SBMG have first dabs anyway. |

I don't think Tahira (Showbiz Reporter) would get the facts wrong and whilst it may be good etiquette for record companies to refrain from making any offers, its not exactly breaking the law to make a contestant an offer. If Rhydian felt certain of winning the contest and the £1m record contract then I'm sure he would not be considering the alternative offer (worth < £1m). However a bird in the hand... Tahira doesn't state "who" made the offer but I think we can safely assume it isn't Cowell. That simply wouldn't make any sense. |

Last year it was rumoured that EMI were interested in Ben. The thing is SBMG have it all wrapped up contract wise with XF Finalists, they wouldn't let a vlauable commodity go to a competitor.
Win or loose, Rhydian will be part of the SBMG fold. |

Not the case any more.................G4 signed their contract with Sony/BMG around Xmas time and flyers for their debut album (which was fast-tracked for March) were actually given out at the X Factor tour
![]() There's no way Rhydian would be allowed to escape to somewhere like EMI or Mercury unless it was felt he wouldn't make a profit for SYCO/SBMG. |

He cannot work for anyone else as he is undercontract with Simon at the moment. Why the Mail are putting this for ward I don't know and I don't know what they want to gain from it. |

It is actually quite damaging for Rhydian and probably isn't true anyway. He is in the competition for the sloe reason of getting a recording contract - he wouldn't have been so nervous on Saturday if this article had any truth in it.

It does rather leave one wondering what exactly the point is in continuing with the show. It could mean that Rhydian may not make the finals if people fail to see the point in his winning.
People will think, why not let someone else win as well. I don't think the average person thinks that way. At this stage people are just voting for who they want to win the competition. |

Rhydian is the first contestant I've seen in any series, where I thought *It doesn't matter if he doesn't win as Simon will give him a contract anyway* (And if he doesn't, someone else would!)

Think about it - if this WAS true and Rhydian HAS been offered a contract already - why did he look so nervous on Saturday? Newspaper talk IMHO. Of course, he WILL eventually get a recording contract out of this show - whether it is as the winner with Syco or as non-winner with Syco or some other record company (obvioulsy it will be Syco come what may, Cowell didn't get that rich by passing opportunties by) . I've noticed Cowell tends to watch the audience a lot when Rhydian is performing - free market research?

LOL. I do remember them stating in January that the 'Summer' we've just endured was going to be 'a heatwave' . Nuff said.

I think Rhydian will do well enough out of X Factor whatever the result and his wish to emulate Katherine Jenkins and perhaps sing a duet with her will probably happen soon. Just because someone sings more perfectly than someone else doesn't mean that everyone will like their voice and this is where Niki and Leon gain points against Rhydian. Both Niki and Leon are said to have more "soul" and Sharon's observation about the eyes makes more sense than some posters care to admit. I hope Rhydian makes the final 3 because he has certainly been a fun act to watch and I'm sure we all wish him well in his future desire for a knighthood. |

I'm not surprised at Simon watching the audience because when you count the prolonged applause after each act, Rhydian just doesn't fare too well. I suspect (and so do many others) that all the pleas for votes by both Rhydian and Dannii on Saturday were a result of Rhydians support levels in actual phone votes (said to not even reach 2nd place).

Rhydian's lines were engaged so they added more phone lines by taking them off another contestant. On Saturday - they were engaged again! I don't know where you're getting all this from but it doesn't have an ounce of truth to it. As for emotion - this is the guy who turned the countries favour towards him after the press and producers were against him and he did this by his singing alone. The press are still against him and the country love his singing. That is emotion and this is something I haven't heard from Leon or Niki. If you believe Sharon, you'll believe anything. You're looking at a guy who turned the country towards him by singing and that means his voice doesn't have emotion? Look at it comparatively. The contestants you are talking about have lost fans or have gained none while Rhydian's support grows and grows against the actions of the media who wanted to portray as a bad guy and his singing and performing did that and that is not emotion? |

There that is the answer. We have a general scare mongering delighting a few. |

Rhydian always gets the longest applauses, I have it on MP3 and when I record it, it's usually between 10 and 20 seconds after the performance.

I agree with you Furry. If you believe Sharron then you will believe the moon is made of cheese. I know as I count how long his and other applause last. However this is just the audience in the show, not the peopel who are voting for him. Rhydian is a great performer and this is blatant scare mongering. |

I think that person is under the misapprehension that the names are read out in the order of vote percentage (ie Rhydian`s was 3rd to be read out)
