this is gonna sound stupid, but does one require a partner for this - i'd quite learn to look some way decent for next year - can't find it on amazon though? again re the space issue do you need lots? is it easy to follow - the only exercise video i ever bought was Patsy Palmer's urban workout - which was quite good, but nothing beats getting the ole jaw wired!

I finally put on the dvd today. It's a pretty good workout. I found the quickstep a little bit difficult to follow but everything else was easy enough and the jive in particular was a good cardio workout. I needed a sitdown afterwards.

Read a feature about exercise dvds etc available at the moment, this wasnt rated highly at all.

Will try and find the review on line.

Thanks for all your reviews - I think I'll definitely get it now. I'll see how I get on with Karen & Erin before I buy Lillia's!

I just did the warm up and part of the cha cha and quickstep, and it's a little challenging, but I love it. Erin and Karen really explain the steps well and it helps in getting the routine. It's a lot better than the DVD the DWTS cast put out in the states.

I'm going away in 3 months on vacation and need to be in good shape for a bathing suit, so hopefully this will be really helpful in getting to that goal!

I've been continuing with the Cha Cha and Salsa and am now following the moves ok athough not always keeping up when they speed up. It's good, because not only is it good exercise but it's good chance to practice dance steps. I get tired of Karen saying "Make sure your neighbours are not watching" though.

I think the DVD has had a good review in quite a few magazines and that is why I bought it (think I saw one in Best or Bella which was quite good - might be mistaken).

Did the jive workout for the first time today. Found it reasonably easy to follow but hard work (need to improve that balance!) Whenever I've had jive lessons they've focussed on the partner element (e.g underarm turns, change hands) and so it was interesting doing something which focussed more on some of the movements they do on SCD (ie. the kicks).

The Jive routine and the Samba are the two I have found easiest. Tried the cha cha again last night and argh, I don't know why that one is first!

The cha cha is definitely the most tricky to follow I think! It's not that the steps are difficult, just putting them all together to the music and trying to folow Erin! It's the routine I have done the least and would put as my least fave.

The jive is great and I think one of the easiest. I also think the salsa and the quickstep are great too. The samba I have found a little more tricky for some reason!

I find the shimmying and stuff in the salsa really hard to do - maybe I will have a go at staying at half-speed when they go faster on some of the moves!

I have only tried the QS once but enjoyed the bits I managed - I think to do it properly I'd have to rearrange my living room, simply didn't have enough space for some of the moves (like the scatter chasses in a box shape)

I think Karen is possibly a little better at explaining the steps than Erin, and the cha cha seems very fast, so the combination is a bit I think it's one I'll keep going back to just to see if I can eventually crack it. I don't like being beaten!

I agree that the shimmying in the salsa (and the african walk) is difficult. I'm also getting a bit bored with it and that is why I decided to try the jive. Will go back to the salsa after a break since it does exercise the right muscles.

Didn't really take to the cha cha at first (it's never been my favourite latin dance anyway) and I agree it is difficult to keep up with the first few times, but I'm really enjoying it now. I still don't always keep up, (always a bit slow on the spot turns and miss the first cuban) but I can see the improvement every time which is great.

I did suspect the QS would need more room (haven't tried it yet). I'm already moving the coffee table (which is on wheels) to fit in the other dances.

I think the QS could easily be danced in a smaller space if you just don't worry about things like dancing the chasses in a box, for example - just do them side to side. If that makes sense! Makes no difference to the exercise content and makes it easier to fit them into the space available!

I like the track for the cha cha and enjoy Lilia's cha cha so I would like to be able to do it - nice to know someone else has got somewhere close to cracking it, there's hope for me yet!

I wouldn't say I'm close to cracking it yet, but I'm definitely improving and don't think I've reached the limit yet of what I can do.

I'll bear in mind what you said about the QS.

Well, sounds like you're getting on better than me, anyway, which is encouraging will keep chipping away!

I've ordered this from my DVD rental site so I can have a go at it before deciding if I'm able to do it (have some health issues so it's not all workouts I can do)

I can't wait to get it!

I bought mine yesterday and tried out the warm up and Cha Cha Cha.

Erin said the Cha Cha Cha steps are easy - she LIES!

She does a step-step-side step-step thingy that I had to keep repeating (it didnt help that my DVD is crap at rewinding ). Was getting a bit frustrated. I had to seek inspiration from Alesha's Cha Cha Cha then I got back into it! Bless you Alesha and Matthew.

Totally agree.... To quote Alesha: It was a Cha Cha Challenge!! I wasn't hopeful for the rest of the DVD, but the Salsa was much better! Moving onto the quickstep tonight,as had to stop to watch a bit more SCD on Youtube!

Is anyone still doing their Strictly Come Dancersize exercises and if so how are you getting on? I am, but only at weekends (difficult to fit in during the week). I do all dances except the quickstep (which for some reason I can't get into, even though quickstep is one of the dances I have learnt in more depth in the past).

My favourite is (dare I say it) the Cha Cha, along with the Jive. Salsa is ok but not so keen on the Samba (although it has the saving grace of seeming shorter than the others).

I've bought this dvd and tried the salsa and cha cha cha! If it wasn't for the re wind button on my dvd player I would be well stuck!
When they explain the steps slowly I'm fine, though I do agree Karen explains them better than Erin.
I cannot do the african walk at all! I've tried so hard with it but I can't get it at all. I can't shimmy either. So frustrating but I'll keep trying.
I can just about keep up in the salsa but can't in the cha cha cha. It's too fast for me and I don't know the routine enough yet to know what comes next.
I to find the spot turns hard to do on my lounge carpet so I do them in bare feet to try and get some slip. This is probably a terrible no no but I cant so it any other way.

Please keep posting your progress everyone.

I've been doing the DVD since January in combination with Lilia's Latinatone.

My favorite dance is the Cha Cha too, although it took me awhile to get all the steps down. Now that I managed to get a handle on the routine I love it! I try to do the Quickstep once a week, but I don't have a lot of room where I excercise, so it's hard to get all the steps in. I like the Salsa too, and I agree the Samba isn't that exciting, but it is the shortest. The Jive is the hardest for me and I haven't quite mastered it yet.

I've lost a little over 10 pounds since January doing these workouts. It's a lot more fun than regular workouts, and if I can get my abs and legs somewhere near the shape that Erin has them, I'll consider it a huge success.
