I thought that Flavia and Vincent had denied that they had broken up.

These rumours will go on until the end of the run; V & F will turn up next year, and low and behold they will probably still be together. It's all up there with Camilla and James Martin’s supposed 'romance'”

Yeah - but the different was that Camilla was single at the time of James Martin AND actively encouraged the rumours (with how she spoke about it on the show and in interviews!) whereas Flavia is with Vincent!

I thought that Camilla was already seeing her Italian paramour at that time, maybe not. I'd really just ignore it; strictly is a business for the BBC, and they will actively encourage this kind of thing, as it is good for ratings. If they really were beginning a romance, the chief controllers would be practically drooling. I mean, if Louisa hadn’t have been so young last year, the BBC editors would have had a field day with their insinuating clips and comments.

I seriously doubt that Flavia, would be interested in someone like Matt, leaving their relatives ages aside.

Why would Flavia ditch her talented, amusing and rather sweet fiance of many years, who is also her professional partner at the top of their game, for a 20-year-old ex-soap actor who she will probably never see again after the show?

Pffttt....The Sun's reporting on SCD is what inspired the Thread for Lazy Journalists.

Even Matt has admitted that Flavia is way out of his league.
I really wish you wouldnt talk about Matt as 'some 20 year old ex-soap actor who she will probably never see again after the show' as if its HIS fault
She will be seeing him again for the tour anyway.

I think they have a sister - brother relationship - that's kinda the relationship I have with my bro (minus ANY of the flirting!lol!)

I really hope they don't turn out to be getting it on - because otherwise I am seriously going to be creeped out after what I said!lol!

Wouldn't really matter if they were; if they were, the real story would bare little resemblance to the one being told, via our papers and TV screens. It’s, strictly world, that is being projected down our televisions to us everyday. It has very little to do with reality. Its all razzle, dazzle them.

Errrr...I didn't. He is a 20-year-old ex soap actor and I doubt Flavia will see him much after the tour (like Darren doesn't see Jill or Colin doesn't see Erin) because Flavia and Matt will go back to their respective full time jobs (I'm sure Matt will be cast in something soon).

Forum is tetchy tonight.

Whilst I don't want to apportion blame on anyone in this so called break up rumour, I think Vincent certainly got the ball rolling when he changed his relationship status on Facebook. People on the forums noticed it then it was picked up on by the newspapers. If he made a genuine mistake at the time then he really should have posted a comment on Facebook to clear the matter up, he hasn't and the papers have just run with the story.

Personally I don't believe there is anything going on so why Vincent said it was 'complicated' is anyone's guess. Just a silly mistake I think!

Does anyone know if it is really his facebook? Or if its just a fake one?

I think its possible that the three of them (vincent, flavia and Matt) are encouraging the rumours as it doesn't exactly harm them to have the public interest in them does it.

Especially if Vincent and Flavia are very secure in their own relationship!

I don't believe for one moment that they've split up or that Flavia has taken up with Matt.

The whole thing is total nonsense and the BBC should not add to the stupid speculation.

The Sun you expect.

I can't keep up with all these supposed relationships it doesn't seem that long ago that Matt was linked with Alesha

I think it was established on the Vincent thread that it was his own -

And I agree with your last two paragraphs.

It's definitely his Facebook, yes.

Ah you see they haven't actually reported it as fact.

It's the old journo trick of using unnamed sources. Anything that you read where it says "An insider told us", "A pal", "A source close to the couple" basically means that you can write anything you like (check the Thread for Lazy Journalists to see what I mean!).

Only believe a sroty if the people involved or a spokesperson for them is quoted.

Oh and BTW, Camilla was in a relationship when she was dancing with James. I think the comparisons between J&C and M&F are spot on

On that basis Berstein and Woodwood made up the whole Watergate story! Just because a source isn't named doesn't mean the story isn't reliably sourced. Sadly in these days of celebrity and political spin the fact that a source is unnamed often means it is the subject of the story themselves or their PR people. I am no fan of the Sun and their stories sometimes (not as often as you imply) turn out to be inaccurate but to assert they simply make them up shows some naivete about modern media practice.

PS love the lazy journo thread!

The entertainment business thrives on its relationship with the redtop tabloids. Such stories are the life blood of both businesses and anyone working in that arena knows that there is no such thing as bad publicity. TV progs feed the tabloids a load of bollocks. The tabloids print it.

Why? Because it sells papers and gets viewers.

So who's to blame for all this.

Anyone who watches TV or reads the tabloids.

And thats means all of us.

After their waltz on sunday (saturday!) and the fact they're dancing together again this weekend I won't believe the rumours for a second longer.

I hate tabloids!!!!!!!

Missfrankie you are of course correct.

I should have "some things" instead of "anything" (serves me right for posting before my brain is awake). And of course the BBC spin department might have been feeding the story.

Glad you enjoy the thread

I would say yes they are after seeing Vincent and Flavia's waltz on Saturday and the kiss V mouthed to F as they took their bow.

I agree. It is a pity someone is always looking for smut or betrayal..but I guess it sells newspapers.

They probably ddo it because they think that people feel better if they know someone else gets dumped, especially if they are a celebrity.

Imo it's another "showmance" just like Camilla/James, Chantelle/Preston, Cerys/Marc, Sabrina/Mark, Julianne/Helio (those of you that watch DWTS) & now Flavia/Matt.
A load of old tosh; the TV companies are in it for the publicity, the red tops for extra sales & probably many of the celeb's for the dosh & upping their profiles.
It's all leaving a nasty taste in my mouth & I'm thinking of adding SCD to reality programmes to avoid next year.
At the mo' I'm just watching the dancing & the scores only & fast forwarding the rest cos I'm sick of all the hype, bad presenting & judges that think they are the "show"!

Also - I think the Alesha and Matthew Cutler relationship shows you don't have to be partners off the dance floor (same with Jill and Darren!) to have chemistry off it!

the pictures that appeared in the sun a few weeks ago of matt and flavia looked staged to me. it wouldnt surprise me if that was case. matt and flavia get the publicity and vincent is safe at home knowing full well that the pictures were staged and there is nothing really going on.

Remember Erin and Martin in series 1? They did some staged pics of them having a spontaneous "picnic" in the park.
