I know it sounds so dramatic, but since it was announced that Kelly pulled out I have become practically disinterested in SCD. They were my favs and made the whole show exciting and just gave it that extra something. Now im very indifferent.

At least you can still watch the results show just for Brendan.

You are in a lifeboat which can hold only 2 persons, or it will capsize. Kelly and Lee Mead are both in the water.

Who do you save?

Save the one who can't swim.

Kelly obviously - Lee Mead's curly wurly hair could keep him afloat for a while

It doesn't sound dramatic, but it doesn't make much sense; how can you be so interested in one couple at the expense of all the others. Although I'm somewhat biased towards Alesha & Matt, I still like watching competent people dance (like Gethin and the pros/guest pros).

There was a thread, started at the weekend, titled "Weird Feeling" (it's on page 5 at the moment), where a lot of people were commenting that this week's show seemed dull and lacklustre in comparison with previous weeks.

The show certainly lost 2 big personalities, and had lost some very good dancers in previous weeks too (Penny and Gabby).

It doesn't seem that much can be done. We'll get used to it.

Don't understand, I'm afraid. I love this show because I love dancing. There are still plenty of dancing to enjoy

That may have had something to do with people being ill - by all accounts, at least three of them - and from doing two dances for the first time and the associated tiredness, as well as Kelly having left in such a sad way.

We'll have to wait and see whether it picks up again on Saturday.

I agree that it wasn't the same without Kelly and Brendan. But I also have to say that Gethin and Camilla's dances made up for it to a certain extent!

There was also a thread titled "Spice it up", or something similar, where people were suggesting things that might rescue the show, from drifting into an unexciting non-competition (because Alesha's serious competitors are now all out), and a completely personality-free zone.

In terms of becoming personality-free, Kenny has gone now too.

(Clutching a last straw, Matt and Flavia are still in).

I can understand this!! I have to say it DID feel very weird, even as they lined up before Bruce & Tess told us there was one couple missing!!!
Very glad, however, they did, speak nicely about Kelly at the start AND nice also, I thought to acknowledge Brendan at the end of the Ballroom Section of the Show, because I did think as the Professional Dancer (as with any of the others if it had been them) It HAD to have been a very tough week & very emotional too.

What I thought gave the show a lift, was Gethin & Camilla (no disrespect to the others!) their brilliant music & Salsa dancing was just what the show needed on Saturday night.

I'd like to think that Kelly & Brendan might dance again, maybe the American Smooth, but she may not be up to doing any of this?!

Anyway, Good luck to the rest of the couples and roll on SCD 6 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I still have interest....but it was a bit of a flat series for me even before Kelly withdrew....and she was by far the most interesting thing about it.

It's an 'off' year IMO...hoping for a return to form in 2008.

Same with me.Kelly & Brendan were my faves & it's just not the same now.
It was good to see Tess talk to Brendan, glad they said a proper goodbye to him.
Know he's in the pro dances but i'm missing Brendan.Hope he gets to do the red button commentary if poss.
It would be lovely if Brendan & kelly could dance again one more time when she is ready, maybe in the final.

I must admit that I also feel that the withdrawal of K+B has affected the dynamic of the show.....although on reflection it probably has more to do with the circumstances, which led to Kelly leaving the show and the subsequent announcement by the BBC that we would yet again only have 2 couples in the final. K+B were always dramatic and there was a certain edgyness to their performances that always left me wanting more. I still think an Alesha; Kelly; and Gethin or Matt final would have been fantastic. I suppose if Kelly had left under normal circumstances then I would have still been disappointed but acknowledged that she was voted off fair and square......It now feels like a case of what might have been. I just hope Gethin continues to improve, as he is now someone, who I really look forward to watching.

I no longer rush home to watch ITT and if I do get home in time I have tv on in the background just in case Brendan is on, while I get on with other stuff.I've discovered my day comes with an extra half hour in it again.

Just IMO - I think Kelly pulling out (and indeed the reason she did so) really affected everyone - plus effectively losing two couples in one week in the first week of two dances per night.

I do agree with those who are disappointed at the prospect of another 2 couple final though.

Notes on what to do should other personalities fall overboard:

Penny - no need to save Penny, her feet can touch the sea floor.

Arlene - should only be saved on condition she gives up alliterations.

Len Godman - no need, he can walk on water.

Ola - no need to save Ola, Kenny will lift her high keeping her dry.

Bruno - no need to save him, his dog paddle looks better in water than in air.

SCD series 2 lost some magic when Aled was voted out...it's just because you invest a lot in a favourite it seems a bit "meh" without them.

Aww, that's a shame; I love watching all the dancers that even if my favourite left it wouldn't put me off. I can watch ballroom and latin all day, every day.

I think this entire series has been a little strange in my opinion for the following reasons;

the loss of some of the better dancers early on (Penny and Gabby),

the inordinately and interminably long runs of Kate, Kenny and John at the expense of better dancers (despite the fact that I loved all of them, none should have gotten as far as they did),

the judges weird voting and the new Sunday results show,

the apparent inevitableness that Alesha will at least make the final if not win (which started up early on and has not abated),

the sad withdrawal of Kelly substantially before her time (I think she would probably have ended up in the top 3),

controversies including liftgate and Bruno's 10,

the two person final,

the lack of any real personalities to get to know and love beyond, arguably, Alesha (who is more likely to annoy than endear) and Kenny. The rest have all felt a little bland.

I think the combination of all of these factors has meant that I have not enjoyed this series as much as last series. I'm still watching but don't feel the urge to get as involved as I have previously.

I also think that it has become predictable as follows:

L&D, M&F bottom two this week, L&D out. M&F, A&M bottom two next week M&F out. G&C win final. It won't matter how well each dances between now and then, I'm certain this is what will happen. Hope next year is better.

It's still very enjoyable but undoubtedly Kelly and Brendan were conspicuous by their absence on Saturday night.

I think that Kelly & Brendan's absence from the show has only just really hit me and I'm finding that my interest is waning. They did add a powerful dynamic and as synmmor1963 says an edginess. I did find Gethin's performances this weekend exciting but the prospect of a two person final is a bit of an anti-climax.

I agree that the show lost some of it's magic after Aled went.

I love SCD and I want to be interested. Maybe the BBC should have asked the public which of the celebrities who have left should have been given another chance.
