Samsung LE40R74BD Question

Hi Guys
Does anyone know if its possible on this tv, to set the default input to a certain input? For instance, when i turn the tv on, it defaults to scart ext1 which is sky. if i unplug the scart it defaults to terrestrial input. If i have my PS3 in the HDMI, it doesnt select that automatically, and if there is nothing plugged into the HDMI, i cant select that input as an option when scrolling through the inputs. I want to be able to do this so that when I get Sky HD installed on friday, it will default to HDMI, as everything will be going through the hdmi switcher.
If anyone knows, please let me know
Thanks!

I have a LE40M87BDX

With SKY connected via Scart and switched off, when watching DTV if I switch the TV off and back on it stays on DTV, same for analogue stays on analogue and HDMI stays on HDMI

If Sky is on it always shows sky on switch on. You can stop this by turning on Scart control on the Picture Setup on the sky box. Buts this then stops the TV auto switching to SKY when you tun SKY on.

Samsung does not auto switch HDMI, not sure if its a Samsung issue or a HDMI limitation, therefore the set will never automatically select HDMI.

Therefore whith SKY HD dont connect the scart lead, no need for it, as long as you switch the TV off while watching the HDMI input , it will revert to it on power on.

oh ok thanks for your reply
My only concern was that, unlike scart where you can select the input even though there isnt anything plugged into it, you cant do that with HDMI, so i thought that unless the skyhd box was left on, it wouldnt switch back to HDMI when the telly was switched on, but thats ok as the hd box will probably stay on anyway.

If the TV is switched off with HDMI selected,
you then turn off the HDMI device,
when the TV is turned back on the TV still selects the last connection vieved so HDMI, the HDMI device is off so it diaplays PLEASE CHECK CABLE on the screen.

Got the same problem with BT Vision and a Samsung LE26R TV. Everytime I switch the TV off it comes back on on Ext 1 even if I switch it off when it's on HDMI.

If I take the Scart leads out it'll come on on HDMI, but I need to have one of the scarts in unfortunately. Any ideas how to sort it lads?

Disconnect pin 8 in the SCART lead that's affecting it, if it's an RGB input, disconnect pin 16 as well.

Awesome. Is it possible just to use one of those scart leads that only has half the pins btw?
