I think that what put people against them was the constant over-praising by the judges, the TERRIBLE backing tracks so you couldn't actually hear them. I think it's unfair to say they can't sing, if you watch back the final "umbrella" audition at simon's gaff, they actually sound quite good. As can be seen by the high level of downloads of their mp3s from spidey's thing, they are, to quote Simon "relevent" (unlike Niki IMO). I always enjoyed their performances and thought they were a nice break from big belters (who I generally love, but i think Niki and Beverly just had volume, no tune!).
And as Mr. Friedman said, they have no earpieces, so it's very difficult to stay in harmony with the rest.. I always think that this is a problem with the groups. Like Eton Road last year i think were let down by this at times. I don't see why they don't give them earpieces..anyway!
