Who prefers camp Rhydian?
I do, was wondering whether anyone else prefers the Go West/Get the Party Started etc. side to him.
Recently his performances have been a bit boring I think |

I didn't like GTPS or GW. I found them cringeworthy to be honest.
My favourite has been YRMU and Somewhere.

I like both sides of Rhydian and I would definitely miss camp Rhydian if he disappeared for good.
![]() That said, Go West crossed the line a little bit for me, falling into the realm of far too camp. I thought Get the Party started was a fricking masterpiece though. |

I've loved every millisecond of every performance, so it doesn't matter to me

I don't see the differance...
The only differance is that his hair was different in camp. |

I prefer neither, GO WEST was a proper disaster and GTPS was bad
He doesnt need to be camp - why does he? its just ridiculous! Then he is a novelty act. |

my preferance would be one serious toned down performance showing the vocal strenght, with one famboyant performance. No excuse with two songs
![]() Go West was a bit much for me too |

You know, it's just struck me that that's what Rhydian fans should call themselves - "Camp Rhydian" - in the same way that Phoebe's family were going on about "Team Phoebe" in last week's Xtra Factor.
Go Camp Rhydian! |

I'm not keen on the camp, but I do like the showman side to him as in 'Phantom'

I like camp rhydian. The only songs I've downloaded have been "go west" (which i thought was fabulous) and somewhere, which I know is "serious" but a really nice song which he sang brilliantly (as in got the meaning of it across unlike other contestants *ahem* Niki)
But yeah, camp one very entertaining! |

i'm very much a straight guy but really enjoyed him doing go west, i think its showed his ability to diverse into whatever songs he was given and i hope it won't put him off doing stuff like that in the future as the thought of him doing just the ballads would be boring despite my favourites being somewhere and you raise me up

I like a mixture of both, I do like him doing upbeat songs as well as ballads which bodes well for a fab solo tour if he was to do one

My personal favourites were Phantom, GTPS and YRMU. It's not just a question of 'camp' for me, it;s about the theatricality. I think Rhydian has such fantastic stage presence I'd like to see a performance that is somewhere in the middle. I mean, not OTT campness like GTPS (although I loved it) but a bit more than just standing there singing.
But maybe I just don't quite get what 'camp' means ![]() I can see it for GTPS but not for Phantom, say. That was just theatre. |

I'm straight - and "Let's Get This Party Started", has been one of my favourites of Rhydian's performances. It was over the top and flamboyant - but it's awesome.
Really, apart from last week. I've liked all of Rhydian's performances tbh. |

I liked the showman side of him, such as POTO and Anything For Love. Not camp but more dramatic, theatrical. I think his first two weeks were his best, although his voice is still of course fantastic, his performances just aren't as entertaining as they were. I didn't like camp Rhydian, though. If he's not camp why make him be?

I have to say I prefered the Virgin Muscle Mary's earlier performances as you never knew what you were going to get. It's a bit predictable now!
he should still win tho! |
