Check what you wrote in your thread header - a little clue here, perhaps?

Here's the important text from your link............

Integrated digital tuner

Looks likely............in fact it seems to have most of what you need except a hard drive.

Do you REALLY want to write disks all the time (do you archive loads of stuff?). If not, the answer may be a twin tuner PVR hard drive recorder, record 2 channels at once, pause live TV etc, etc.

I know it said freeview in the title but it didnt say in the catalogue what channels it came with or anything, but some of the others did so i was a bit confused.

If you click on the picture of the unit you will see written on it's face -

" Dual Tuner Digital/Analog - DVD Recorder"

I think it would be a good enough purchase and it would have all the channels receivable in your area.I don't know if you could watch one digital channel whilst recording another as it is probable that one of the two tuners is for analog reception. Maybe you should ask the seller before parting with your money.

HOW MUCH?!

It's a Vestel clone that can be purchased under various brands for about £110!

Might be worth offering some examples of which other brands it's offered under since the original poster may not be as tech savvy as you are.

Maybe.

If so, the Proline version is £99 and identical other than a lack of HDMI, most of the others are supermarket specials.

... no i dont archive stuff..
then don't buy DVD recorder - get a PVR

... ..but i want to start recoring EE episodes as i am a big fan so thats why i wanted a dvd recorder..
..a PVR will record the whole series continuous - you can watch the episodes whenever you feel like (even if it's recording) - it will also remeber where abouts you watched upto (if you don't watch a whole episode) then just delete it after you've watched it

... , but i also wanted it to have freeview on
..some (most even) PVR's have TWO freeview tuners so you can record 2 things on different sides

a DVDR is the wrong machine for you
