I'M SO TORN ABOUT MATT - He's messed up two weeks running....

I've loved Matt's dancing and I feel SOOOOO sorry for him....BUT!

Him getting through this week.

Case against:

I found it uncomfortable viewing when he messed up (in both routines, and the tango last week). In fact this is becoming a pattern.

I really think with his mentality (I really don't know how any of them cope!) that he'll find the pressure too much next week.

The others haven't buckled under the pressure.

He seems unable to pull himself together when things do go wrong.

If he does do the argentine Tango - will the pressure of doing it with Flavia (world's number one!) may be too much.

Case For:

He's only twenty!

Some of his dancing is AMAZING!

He's hilarious!

Vincent was robbed of doing the Argentine Tango last year - I want to see Flavia do it this year as she's the best in the world!

Should someone else be sacrificed so he can get through. Letitia based on tonights performances has earned her place...?

All I can say is this: He is young at 20 and hasn't been through a 'crisis' like this. But this 'crisis' is self-made, if you understand what I mean... I hope whatever happens, it would not be a soul-destroying moment of his life. Because if he doesn't grow out of his nerves, he might be a goner for a long time... Right now, I think only Flavia and his family can help him...

Nice boy, showed a lot of early promise......but Gethin is soooooooo much better

I think he's a better dancer than Letitia when he's on his game. The problem is he's not been on his game for the last 2 weeks and he deserves to go, especially after tonight.

Emotionally and physically, Matt looks wrecked. I think he's taken it a bit too seriously, and at his age, and with other commitments, everything has taken its toll on him.

If it's Matt and Letitia in the bottom two tonight, which seems likely, it would be very very brave and controversial of the judges to save Matt when Letitia was better and didn't make any noticeable major mistakes.

It is turning into a bit of déjà vu like Louisa going out in the quarter finals. When he actually remembers the whole routine I think he's better than Gethin so it's a shame he's crumbled under the pressure.

Spot on. On past performance, Matt, but I enjoyed Letitia tonight. Matt's tearing himself apart mentally.

I think that Matt's age shouldn't be brought into the argument. It's like having to listen to Len go on about Louisa last year all over again. If they think that they're too young to cope don't have them in the show.

Maybe his nerves are more to do with the fact that Flavia has to dance with Vincent tonight in the AT??

yeah, but Matt, in the long run, has had better dances, and you can see he has sooo much more to give. I think doing EE and rehearsing was bad and put alot of pressure on him. IMO he's still better than Letita

He showed great promise at the start of the show and he has done some fantastic performances and should be commended on those but since he has had to learn 2 dances he has crumbled - sadly - based on tonights dances he should be leaving - its the second week running that he has messed up badly in his dancing - sorry

Matt should go through, at least for one more week! He has performed better than Letitia overall.

I don't think he messed up last week. That tango was very difficult and he did well. He just shouldn't have mouthed 'I'm so sorry' straight afterwards, that gives people the wrong impression!

Why would that affect his performance tonight??
What a strange thing to say!!

Matt should go through. I'd rather watch him dance than Letitia even with the mistakes, because somewhere in there, there is real dancing talent.

Well said. It would be highly unfair for anyone other than Matt to go this week. It seems to me that he can't hack two dances - the pattern seems to be the first minute is OK then it all goes wrong and looks hideous. Shame.

I said on another thread: the delay in his exit story-line scuppered him. It was supposed to have been long since done and dusted, not starting as the 2-dance weeks began. It looks like it became a viscious circle - diverting attention from rehearsal (intensity if not hours), performing relatively under par last week, and repeat this week, in more extreme form.

Don't you read the papers?? Matt is supposedly with Flavia now and he hates her having to dance with Vincent. When you look at how passionate their ( F & V )dance was last week you can see why he'd be worried

Probably just paper talk but it stands to reason

IMHO Matt should go through this week. He's a far better dancer than Letitia (although I love her) usually and I think he derserves a chance.

This is what makes it so sad - you can see the potential and talent there. When he manages to control the nerves hes absolutely brilliant as in the Salsa and even when he makes mistakes, as in the Paso and Quick Step, he managed to keep going and gave fantastic performances.

Perhaps he felt he hadn't prepared as much as he would have liked due to his work commitments which made him nervous.

I think he's in a 'no win' situation really. If the judges save him its going to be controversial and if they don't he's going home. I'd still love to be him there next week proving to everyone just how FLUFFING good he can be - however I can understand and accept why others wouldn't share that view.

I'm just really worried about how he will perform in the dance off IF he is in it.

I think his second dance was ruined by his mistakes in the first - he just had a brain block.

HOWEVER - it is possible that because of what happened he will be saved from the dance off.

People on here saying they have voted 12 times for him....he could JUST overtake someone like Gethin...or Alesha - if he does, Letitia will go home...Alesha and Gethin could be in the bottom too (unlikely- stay with me!) simply because they were so good people assume they're safe.

I think it will probably be Letitia and Matt in the bottom and IF Matt can hold his nerve...then the judges can base their saving of him on that performance - if he can't - they'll do it on 'potential'...

He really wasn't bad last week ... he wasn't fantastic, but if it hadn't been for the "rabbit in the headlights" look throughout the show, and saying Sorry to Flavia over and over it would have been a pretty good week ...

... things really went spectacularly wrong this week ... *sighs* ... he can dance though, and I don't want his confidence totally knocked because of a dance show so I've voted for him this week!

Poor Matt has had everything against him - Gethin taking off, the introduction of two dances and work resuming. All at the very time he is tired. At this stage no one deserves another chance and he didn't do his best last week either. Pity but it's not about seeing possible talent now - we should be evidencing it. If we are not then that person should go. Tonight, that's Matt.

No - he messed up quite a bit of the tango - he admitted it himself - but he pulled through it because he kept going.

Tonight he just couldn't keep going. If in the foxtrot he had held his nerve and lead her (I know its asking a huge amount!) Flavia could have followed...maybe too much to ask of a non-proffessional.

Alesha could follow in her foxtrot mess up because she was not leading.

He is and can be FLUFFING good and I wish the nerves wouldnt get to him - I would love him to be there next week and I think he has the potential to go all the way to the final but not if he cant control his nerves - its such a shame because as all the judges said - he can do it, he can dance and he has proved it - sees to me the pressure of learning 2 dances in a week is really getting to him - sadly
