I've always liked getting FUJI digital camera's, my brother who is in the trade swears by them.

This one might be just what you need.

It's a 8.3 megapixel camera which means it will take very good quality images.

Megapixels is really the key when buying a digital camera.

As an alternative, HP make good camera's too, these ones are 5 and 6 megapixels and a little cheaper.

The examples I have given are from Misco, a site I trust, there are many other trusted places to look for prices like Amazon and 7dayshop.com.

I hope this helps.

Totally not true!

The quality of the lens and sensor is key .... NOT the number of megapixels! Unless you plan to print a lot of poster sized prints or do an awful lot of cropping, 4-6 megapixels is plenty. By the time you shrink down to the usual 5x4 or 8x5 prints (uncropped) that most people use even a 3mp camera image will look spot on (if it's a decent 3mp camera that is).

There are plenty 10mp cameras out there that are total garbage. A 4/5mp camera with a decent lens/sensor will produce far better images.

I'll agree on the Fuji recommendation though. I use an F20 as my pocket sized point-n-shoot camera and it's nice little piece of kit.

Plenty cameras in your price range worth looking at. Fuji, Canon and Panasonic would the first ones I'd look at. Have a look on Steves Digicams (google it) and you'll find plenty good write ups and reviews.

Thanks for all your replies. After all day looking in various shops and in the internet I found I rather like the' Sony W80'. In store at Comet is around £149 but on the internet I can get the price down to £117.

Maybe someone with more knowledge than me can say if this is a good camara for the price ( all the reviews i have read seem to think it is )

I should of mentioned the lens, slight oversight on my part but the examples I have do have quality lenses. I wouldn't reccomend a cheap brand.

Don't know anything about sony cameras at all but what I can tell you is that the battery life will be good. Sony Stamina batteries are really fantastic as I found out with Sony audio products.

My sister recently bought the Canon IXUS 70. Both low-light and day light pictures are pretty impressive. The red eye reduction is pretty good too.Took pictures of a subject that with other cameras I've tried, always gets red eye, but with the IXUS, it was nearly non-existent.I must also add,the video quality is extremely good for such a small little camera. You're best buying an extra SD card though if you go for this model and decide to take advantage of the video function.

Don't go for sony, I haven't been impressed by their range of digital cameras at all.The cybershots are a bit of a rip off if you ask me.

Funny that you have said that as more people have reccomended sony to me than any other make!

As far as cameras go, Sony's are decent ..... they're certainly not rubbish. They're not down there with the likes of Vivitar and IT Works.

But .... as far as I'm concerned, there are better makes out there. I'd look at Canon, Fuji and Panasonic ahead of Sony every time.

I second this and third my own comment. Since if you're going to, pop £120 on a Sony then you might as well buy the Canon IXUS, for the same price. It's not the be all end all, but it's better than the Sony Cybershot, for the same price.

Well they're wrong, as the majority almost always tend to be. It's your funeral.

For a price of around £100-£120 I would look at Sony first before the one's you have said.
Working as I do ( selling these camaras ! ) I would reccomend Sony.
