I was a bit underwhelmed - the youtube clip for last year's was absolutely stunning, but this year I couldn't really get into it. Technically it was excellent though, and I agree that Vincent and Flavia has great chemistry.

god those two are such a fantastic dancing partnership.

that dance had me glued to the screen amazed. just like last week.

sexy, beautiful, exciting, dramatic. it was just perfect.

i cant wait to re-watch it on youtube.

I thought it was amazing stuff, stunning to watch and worth the licence fee alone. I could watch Flavia all night long long,
where has she been all my life???

Fabulous dance. I have watched it several times and am more amazed each time.
I think Flavia is the most charismatic dancer I have ever seen. I know she is tiny, but Vincent makes it look like he is lifting a feather.
Surely these dances are helping to broaden the audience. Exciting, different and not stuck in the old days.

F+V are simply magnificent together, it's true. I'd probably go with Fred Astaire for charisma, but (apropos Flavia's own extraordinary skill, athleticism and sheer animal magnetism) to quote Ginger Rogers "I did everything Fred did, but backwards and in high heels"!

I think it was better technically, and more 'proper' than before, just not as showy. This is the third time this series they've had the floor more or less to themselves (Samba, Waltz, AT) more so than any of the other pro couples. That makes me very happy indeed

I hardly dare say this, but I don't like all the posturing and flicking of legs which seems to be becoming more and more absurd. I think Vincent&Flavia are amazing dancers but I didn't find the dance in yesterday's Results Show the least bit sexy.

My 6 year old stood there in complete silence which is a first for her and 12 year old son who has no interest in SCD apart from who went, who danced to what and who made mistakes etc was glued to it and said it was amazing and how did they not get their legs in a tangle

I'm in the minority here but I was slightly disappointed/underwhelmed by it. It was technically excellent as you would expect from them but I felt no emotion watching it nor did it blow my socks off like last years did. *says sorry and runs away*
Me too - too much show tango for me, with too many aerials.

It was lovely, but I've seen a lot better - and I also preferred last year's show. In fact, the 2005 show was pretty good also.

There were some superb bits, of course.
From here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCkLfuokl9E

The sequence from 0:57 - 1:25 was lovely, but then they have an aerial that just looks weird, I've no idea where that came from...

The best bit for me is the planeo sequence around 1:50 - it's just magical, and they make it look so effortless.

I have to say, though, that the camerawork was excellent - you could see their footwork, so well done to the team for doing a good job on that.

It was good, no doubt, but I'm getting a bit sick of Flavia and Vincent being showcased all the time. They've had 3 dances this season with the floor to themselves - waltz, samba and now AT. Couldn't the BBC have given one of the other pro couples a chance to do something. It's not that I don't like Vincent and Flavia, I think they're incredible, but so are the other couples and it would be nice to see them once in a while.

Well I dare to join you in your views. All very very good but not really what I would think a Tango should be... by the way I know bugger all!

I thought the Tango was supposed to be a sexy seduction rather than a kicking exercise.

I can understand it as its ballroom rather than 'club/real' dancing and if they just stuck to the moves you wouldn't be any different than anyone else in a competition.

I'm say the same for when they had the couple doing the Latin the other week. It like a guitar player that plays fast rather than we feeling...

Would love to go to Argentina and find a club and see how Tango should really be danced.

Didn't see last year's performance, as this is the only series I've watched all the way through. I agree they are a good team, but that AT was just ridiculous. Looked more like a wrestling match to me at times, as if they were trying to trip one another up!!

i love vincent and flavia and their AT last year, i just didn't like the music it this year it was painful, i had to block it out, but i did sit with my mouth open with the quickness and all the technical stuff, it was jaw dropping how good they moved together

it was technically very sharp and precise but it just didn't feel like dancing last years was amazing lots of leg flicks and aerials but also lots of dancing to the music

I disagree. If you watch it and listen carefully you will see just how precisely they are dancing in time to the music.
Brilliant!

They are indeed - it's extremely precise. The sacadas and barridas are superbly-executed, with extreme skill. And as I said, the planeo around 1:50 was fantastic.

The lifts, I could have lived without, to be honest - but then I thought the same thing about their waltz last week also. Just because show tango allows lifts, doesn't mean you need to overdo it.

And it'd have been nice to see some more basic ochos, boleos, and even some nice walks.

This was an amazing dance which could have been even more amazing if it hadn't been for the poor choice the director made about shots. Annoyingly on faces when you knew the footwork was interesting, or on just feet and legs when you needed a sense of their bodies.... and as for the final (completely brilliant) lift.... which camera angle do they decide to use? The one which is square on to Flavia so we basically just see her knickers... now maybe that doesn't bother some of us viewers but I would have rather seen a big wide shot from the side so you could see her in profile to see how high she went and the lines of their bodies. Aaaarrrrrghhhhh.... !!!

Oh and just because you've paid for a steadicam doesn't mean you have to overuse it! Sorry. Rant over. Well, for now at least.... I can't promise I'll never say anything about the direction again.

Totally agree with how the camera and directors' work is generally patchy and we obviously miss so much (Alesha's allegedly "lazy" footwork for example). Maybe they should get the crew from Sky Sports rather than BBC Variety.

There again, I'd just accept Flav's knicker shoots as a "Brucie Bonus" so it's swings and roundabouts.

I really enjoyed their AT but agree with lots of others and thought that last year's one was superb. Also wasn't a fan of her dress but can't have everything!!!

Hey there I'm really into strictly and have my favourites, for instance, it started with the jive, then the paso but now its the AT all over.

Seeing it on sunday just gave me a complete wow factor at the technicality of it, and I can't believe I couldn't remember it from last year seeing as Emma Bunton was my fav! Just watched her one on youtube and was completely fixated!!! it's the best dance.. in my opinion anyway hehe.

And if Matt is nervous then at least he's got the most confident AT professional to help him out!!

I do agree, they are great but I miss the likes of Karen and Erin, who have been gone for weeks now. Surely Flavia having to rehearse that is a bit unfair on Matt too?

I can see it's skillful but it's a funny old 'dance', much rather have ballroom
