Sony RDR-HXD870 turn OFF parental controls
Dear Group, for reasons best known to itself my DVD Recorder has started to request the password for parental controls every time i try to record a program. I can't remember it doing that before! Despite reading the instruction book i can't see how to disable this function. Has anyone come across this before, and how do i get rid of it?
Many thanks |

Have you tried the following(from the manual):
1.Press menu, while the recorder is in stop mode. 2.Select initial set up and press enter 3.Select parental lock and press enter 4.To turn off the display, press menu Or you could reset the recorder(drastic,as it will reset all your settings, including channels,I think) 1. Make sure that the recorder is turned on and remove the disc. 2.Hold down the stop button on the recorderand press power/standby button on the recorder. All settings are reset and the recorder turns off. |

There is no way to disable the parental controls. I had to reset the box then the parental control screen gives the option to add a password.
Just thought i'd mention that in case it comes up again. Cheers |
