Scottish Sun urges readers to vote for Leon
We are being urged to vote for Leon because he is a "proud" Scot, I do wish we could grow up move away from this jingoistic nonsense and be allowed to vote for whoever we like and wherever they are from. Is there such a thing as a Wesh Sun with Rhydian on the front? Probably not.

So we in England should all vote for SD whether we like them or not ... ugh. I'll vote for whom I bleddy well like! Or not! I don't care what nationality they are! That's discrimination AND patronizing!
I'm voting for all three because I can't decide. Ha. |

I have never understood this 'vote for the local lad' type voting. As a Londoner, I've never even thought about the nationality/colour/religion/home town of if I like someone or not. I vote for the person who does it for me, talentwise.

ITV Wales is all for Rhydian, and was urging for the welsh vote. The other two finalists weren't even mentioned on the news, the bit just ended with "Rhydian will competing against two other finalists on the last show of the series this Saturday" or something.
(For some reason I don't get ITV Liverpool, I get ITV (and BBC) Wales) |

Oh now its no big deal-
The Scottish Sun supports the scottish boy-big deal really?! Its not going to make a huge difference to voters is it-it just shows they support the home-grown talent. Same way Im sure Welsh press is supporting Rhydian and calling on people to get behind him! |

![]() Of course there's going to be this rubbish, Louis Walsh tries it every year......and it's the same in Wales for Rhydian. What do people expect of rags? |

Well with many hundreds of years of centralist marginalisation of Wales and Scotland I can't say I'm suprised that some people there feel very nationalisitic
Its pretty sad though to vote nationalistically in a tv programme though |

People still believe everything they read in a newspaper? Besides they are only asking people to vote for X contestant, doesn't mean you have to vote for them. Heck if I did what the Scottish Sun said, I would have voted Labour in the Scottish Elections. As much as they deny it, all news media is biased in one way or the other, even the Holier-then-thou BBC.
Anyway I'd have to vote for Rhydian, SD and Leon, I'm Scottish and the OH is from Hampshire, but we both like Rhydian the most. |

I saw this earlier, my country really does embarass me at times. It's not enough that we inflicted Michelle and the MacDonalds on the world, now we keep pushing Leon.
Perhaps it's some sort of inferiority complex, "we" have to win something against the English or show the world we aren't just a pointless little country... of course, if the English grew some bal*s and played us at football, we would beat them at something! |

They can urge all they wont because I wouldn't vote for him if he was the only person in the comperition, oh and he wouldn't win either.
Rydian all the way for me, and Same Difference to come second. |

(For some reason I don't get ITV Liverpool, I get ITV (and BBC) Wales) They were bigging up Ray and Eaton Road ad nauseum on Granada Reports last year, and the year before it was 'Manchester lad' Shayne Ward |

When talking about TV talent shows, I don't like to spread this information ... what with our appalling contributions to them.
![]() ![]() It's good that you can resist the attempted manipulation of rag and nonsense 'news'papers. I am confident that most rational people would do same.

Thats because there is no such thing as 'ITV Liverpool'. You live in the Granada region. If you had Sky you'd get it. I don't know why you don't get it, most other people on Merseyside do.
