My quest for a 37" to 40" tv continues....does anybody have any views on the Sony KDL 40W3000 ?
We are sort of settled that we want a 37" or 40" LCD. The Panasonic 37LZD70 is top of the list at the moment but I was wondering about the Sony.

Any Views ?

To be honest they will both have their strong points - I have always been a bit of a fan of both Panasonic and Sony stuff - although historically my choice would always have been Sony for TV's, but that was simply because of their Trinitron technology. If possible, try and have a good look and listen to them both, and see which you prefer- obviously weighing up the best deal you can get on each too.

It's a very good picture, on SD as well as HD, and has LOAD'S of inputs, but it is pretty pricey!.

As suggested, you need to compare tham - ask to see them side by side!.

Thanks for your replies....a question regarding the inputs.
I have Sky+, a Panasonic DVD Recorder (no HDMI) and a VCR to connect.
Most TV's now only have 2 scart sockets.
I want to avoid using the sockets at the side of the TV.

Whats the best way of connecting those up using only the options at the back of the TV?
Should I use the component socket for the VCR ?

VCR's don't have Component outputs?.

The 40W3000 has two SCART sockets on the back, two sets of Component sockets, two HDMI's, and a VGA input. On the side it has a further HDMI, S-Video and composite.

Assuming your DVD recorder has Component?, connect that via Component, and the Sky+ and VCR via SCART (RGB SCART for the Sky+).
