Amazon usa is just about to do the deal, it should be working later today or tommorrow apparently.

http://forums.highdefdigest.com/showthread.php?t=29702

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...75031&plpage=1

I tried it and it wasnt working, but i went as far through as possible to see what the p+p was, £4.50. I am going for the departed and the new superman, non combo's, should come to about £18

I looked at the HMV buy 3 for the price of 2 but when some disks were £23.99 it took the shine right off, prices can be so high in the UK even the deals don't crack the US price advantage.

Agreed, a deal for me just now is when the cost of a disc is single digits. If you go for 2 of the $20 disc then the deal should make it £7.50 ish per disc

Thats it working now, you need to go all the way through to get the discount, it wont come up in your basket.

I got the departed and the new superman for £17.
Goodfellas and gothika for £15.

Only downside is ETA 26th dec to 4th feb, booo.

Goodfellas & 12 Monkeys fall into that catergory! Cheers for the tip.

I hope Mrs Apollo hasn't been shopping elsewhere. She shall be re-directed asap.

Any idea when the promo ends?

No final date just limited stock.
Pity I can't find enough to justify more than two orders but under £8 a disc delivered it's a great deal, the Blu-ray guys have know this sort of feeling for quite a while thanks to their bogof's

Maybe I am biased, being a PS3 owner, but these HD-DVD prices are starting to sound like a firesale. Enjoy it while you can!

It's no different to the many BOGOF deals Amazon US have offered for Blu-ray this year( two seperate BOGOF deals this month alone) and most notably when HD DVD have had an A1 title release that week.

Does that Blu-ray is failing as well

Nah! It's obviously skilled marketing when it's from the Blu Ray side.

Yeah my two seperate orders were also dispatched. Pity I couldn't find a third combination but now the ball is rolling lets hope Amazon and other have studio tie ins to offer more BOGOF.

Blu never did promotions when they had a AAA blockbuster in the week!

BTW: BD has no major promotions at the moment.

Well that would be foolish wouldn't it, they may put a premium title with a player sale (Spiderman and the classic Casino Royale with a PS3) but you rarely see the very latest titles in any BOGOF deal.

No Blu-ray don't but the last Amazon US BOGOF only ended a few days ago and they had another the week before that and one when Shrek3 was released and another when Transformers was released so you see HD DVD is good for Blu-ray owners

The Amazon US BOGOF deals are less of an issue for Region B players but if it's a Warner tie in then still worth looking at especially compared to the recent HMV 3 for 2 but the Tesco 3 for 2 looks a little better and worth looking into for any UK Blu-ray owner.

That's exactly what HD-DVD is doing this week!

Yes at least one Potter movie was included in the HMV 3 for 2 and then vanished the next day from the titles offered.
Worth pointing out that the Potter movies are also included in the ASDA Blu-ray 3 for 2 deals

I am assuming it's the Potter movies you are referring to but if that's not the case which premium title are you referring too?

LOL! No, Jarrak!

I meant the massive BOGOF deal HD-DVD has in the US right now. This includes the brand new blockbuster The Bourne Supremacy!

HD-DVD is absolutely desperate to win this one week in the year! I think they might just pull it off!

The order's done and the delivery may just squeeze down the chimney before Santa does his rounds.

I watched the promo vids at Amazon.com for Star Trek TOS, the new exterior animations look fantastic. I might wait till Jan to see if any more gets sliced off the price.

I know... I'd take the moon, if only I could get it to fit on the stick.

Got a link (if it's a online retailer), Bourne Ultimatum isn't included in the Amazon US BOGOF as it's all Warner titles. A few US retailers have bundled the trilogy together (Amazon is one) but that's more in response to the lack of a US boxset (also blatantly absent for Shrek) than a HD DVD marketing move.

Well you've got to admire how Blu-ray influenced the impact of Transformers and Shrek3 by dealer tie ins for BOGOF because as you say even one week where HD DVD sells more (inspite of the Nielson data) it's a huge thing.

I just bought another 2 discs on the bogof, couldnt help myself

Am i right in thinking that we wont know this weeks sales until next friday, is it 1 week in arrears?

Bourne + bogof (hdvd) vrs bogof (blu already been done), i think the reds may finally get a win this year

Think i also read that best buy will have a hd dvd bogof next week but it is all the big hitters, transformer, bourne, shrek 3, could be another good sales week.

I couldn't find a sixth disk I really wanted (or didn't already have) even at that price but now we've had one genuine studio backed BOGOF lets hope there are a few more, it's about time HD DVD buyers were offered the media deals Blu-ray owners have had for months

I'm not even going to go into the ridiculous prices UK stores charge since that tends to hit both camps although the Blu-ray only Tesco 3for2 is good news for blues

The first of my two orders just arrived and didn't incur any further TAX or PO charges despite Amazon putting the full price for both discs and p&p on the label
Touch wood the next parcel is ok, this is why I've never bothered with Amazon, shouldn't have to gamble and even more so when the bill is under the import limit.

Amazon US are doing another BOGOF with a selection of different titles, still catalogue titles but at the prices it's still an attractive deal

Jarrak,I know you were after the Star Trek TOS combo set.

Just bought one new (R1) from a UK Amazon Marketplace seller and it was only £61 including P&P.
