Hey guys, I'm looking for a decent iPod speaker dock that is under £50 and has a remote control. I have seen quite a few out there especially in places like Argos but I want to hear from the experts Thanks

Hi, I'd recommend this. On special offer at the moment. Played with one the other day, the sound quality is very good for a small unit.

Sorry, don't have a speaker dock recommendation.

You can though connect your iPod into an ordinary Hi-fi with phono inputs using the right cable which will provide better sound quality than a cheap speaker dock.

I had a quick look at a couple of mags and the Logitech Audiostation Express is highly recommended price circa £55 at dabs.com or computerwebstore.co.uk.

A cheaper option is the Jivo Juicy Tunes Speakers from easyishop.co.uk, ipodspeakerstore.co.uk or mymemory.co.uk at £30 (reduced from £50)

Currys are doing one for £25, with an alarm clock built in!

Intempo IDS-05 System has many good reviews. It's under 50 notes at Amazon. (£40 white, £45 black). Got a remote and sound quality is apparently very good.

I've been doing this for years - it's a great sound as my speakers are great!

Edit: Having said that, I do notice a difference in the quality of tunes that I have downloaded from CDs and those that were a quick upload of tunes originally held on my ipod and downloaded again...if that makes sense.

If it's just for the bedroom, the Intempo Docking Stations are great. Got one a while back for myself from Comet for £40(?) (Amazon didn't have any in stock) and another again from Comet couple of weeks ago for my son - I paid £30 I think and they've reduced them even further by the looks of the website. They hadn't got any with the remote control on Amazon when I was looking anyway - unless that was just because I was specifically looking for a silver one.

For something so small, the sound is great both loud and quiet if you want to nod off to it. I had an issue with a Logic set whereby there was a really annoying buzz when you had it on quiet - had the Intempo as a replacement and absolutely love it.

They do all sorts of different colours aswell, I have the pink to match my Nano and my son as a silver one to match his.

Thanks so much for your help. I know what you mean about that annoying buzz! I think I will definitely go for an Intempo model, just need to decide which one
