This is my first post so i would just like to say hello too you all.
Been looking for ages and still can't make my mind up.Started out looking for a 40" lcd sony kdl40w2000.Spoke to a few peeps and they have now steered me more to words a plasma.it is for a bedroom wall and will be used for footy via ntl old type box, watching dvd's,and my lads got an xbox 360.went to my local panasonic shop and he recommended a TH42PX70BA at £900 with bracket and 5 year warranty.
Then had a look in Curry's they had a similar panny aTH42PX70 allot less.Is there a difference between the two?And what is it?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks Scezy

Merry Xmas

I have this TV (with full cabinet stand) and I think the 'B' stands for UK spec.......? Not sure what the 'A' is for.

Dixons online has this at £699.99

Would you recommend this tv for football, gaming and sky then,or would i be better of with an lcd. Also is there just one model with this TH42PX70 or are there different specs with same number, because prices are so different.
Thanks Scezy

A great TV. 37" model is also available for less than £800 and has had rave reviews.

The price i quoted was for a panel only (no stands).
I have Sky HD and all SD stuff gets upscaled via HDMI and really looks great. HD, of course, is terrific.

This is true. Sky HD works well with this TV and the SD picture is even better than with Freeview. HD is hard to beat and the difference with the full HD model is hardly noticeable.

Are plasmas as good as lcd for gaming? (xbox),and also that question about the model number The prices vary allot with this tv are there different specs for this model TH42px70 or just priced differently from shop to shop?
Thanks Scezy
