Its absurdly nasty, and NOBODY should be apprieciating it!”

In fairness Kyle I think that that line was being scarcastic as in "we didn't get the chance not to realise that Niki's Dad is dead as she or Louis or someone was always telling us, rather than him casting doubt about whether or not the man has actually died.

I cannot believe the nastiness on this thread. What is the problem with Niki, I thought she was an amazing singer but the problem is she was too old and too curvaceous to be a finalist. I do hope that when those on here who are criticising her for being sad about her fathers death lose a loved one that others around you have more empathy than you have shown. Having been a dinner lady in my dim and distant past I can assure you that I wouldnt want to go back after appearing on TV singing live and nor would you. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Well my father died a few years ago, yes you are sad but you have to move on. However where I differ is that I decided not to try and make a career out of it.

The story we were sold was of a mother struggling and working as a dinner lady whose father had a secret aspiration for his daughter who thought she had an undiscovered talent.

The truth was rather different of a former professional singer whose supported popular acts and made videos in the not too recent past and who thought to try and use the X-Factor to boost a failed career.

And do we still believe that she'd never thought of entering herself? - was the father story even true or just a spin. We don't know but it's a very plausible thought.

Therefore, you should all join the appreciation thread for the three weeks that have kept this series alive! ”

No way. Is Niki's dad dead? I had no idea.
