Having switched to using the front IR blaster on the Tivo.
The double headed IR cable was being unused.
After an update of the Sony RDR-HDX 870 left the settings being reset,including the settings for external receivers.
Having multiple external receivers connected to the Sony RDR-HDX 870,but only one controlled by the Sony RDR-HDX 870 for recordings.
I connected the Tivo double headed IR cable to the Sony RDR-HDX870 and can report that it is working with two external receivers i.e changes channels on both
One being a Pace cable receiver and the other being a Sky digibox.
Haven't had a chance to record anything yet,but hope it goes to plan.
