Just had my Tiscali + box installed

The engineer came out today to swap over to the new Tiscali plus box. It was very quick, about 5mins, and really easy. I've done a few quick tests with recording and watching 3 channels at a time, and all works really well. The box is the same as on the Tiscali+ link on the website and the new remote is a massive improvement, and has a volume control on it now as well
The quality of the recorded programmes is fantatstic. I'm watching it through an RGB scart but for the Plasma screen owners out there HDMI is available, i'm not HD so can't comment on the quailty there. There is a slight hum to the STB especially when recording. I've recorded about 5 programs and it says i have 92% of the hard drive available,it would be nice if it told you in hours and minutes.
very happy so far, if anyone has any questions just let me know.
Now if i can get Tiscali to send me a correct bill for the first time in 4 months i'd be a very happy customer !!!

Just got the PVR installed too. I've only had it 48 hours so this is very much a first impression. I got this for the extra channels (compared to freeview) and the VOD content. The picture is good as is the ability to watch programmes broadcast on BBC in the last 7 days.

I do find the actual operation disappointing (I'm comparing this to my Humax 9200t PVR).

1) No ability to search for a specific programme as far as I can see. You have to know exactly when it's on (and on what channel) to be able to find it. Which even than can be a comparatively laborious process.

2) When you go into the menu, annoying adverts come on - much better if the current channel was shown.

3) No interactive (red button) or text on any channel as far as I can see.

4) "My TV" which you can use to store favourite channels doesn't work.

There are some other small niggles but I would say if it's your first PVR you shouldn't be disappointed. But for my money I think it could be a lot more user friendly.
