HXD770 adjust volume with remote?

Hi,

Just got one of these from Argos to use as our main freeview tuner. Its a fantastic bit of kit and simplifies things nicely having the dvd and hard disk all in one box.

One thing i have noticed thought is there doesn't appear to be a way to use the remote to vary volume output from the sony. I use a seperate amp connected using the digital coax for my sound.

On most freeview boxes you can alter the audio output from the box using the remote which has always worked well for me.

Any ideas?

Thanks

sounds odd, I just got one myself, just plugged it in, but looks like my batteries need recharging so doing that first...will let you know if I find out...mind you I aint too sure its even going to work, got a humax this morning and it hardly picked up any channels, so looks like i got the last of these Sonys in North London (Argos), hopefully its ok

mind you the remote is big enough, should have room for volume button...

thats funny, just read your post about that on avforum.

i can get it to control my panasonic tv volume with no trouble using the buttons at the bottom of the remote. i just assumed it would work as per most freeview boxes,i.e. controlling the output from the scart / coax.

Well you learn something every day. It seems that i can turn off the internal speakers of my tv and connect a pair of audio cables from the tv's rear connectors to my amp.
The output from these rear connectors is controlled as per the normal tv volume therefore allowing me to use the hxd770 remote to control my volume.
Can still switch the amp over to digital coax for dvd's.

Very happy now.
