Well.. its happened before, the public have voted right and Matt's ahead of Gethin on the scoreboard and Wow'ed the public tonight.

But Matt fans, keep voting!.. it looks like Gethin fans will be doing exactly what they were accusing matt fans of Last week, the sympothy vote.

i must admit that although i love both of them very much, i would love a gethin, alesha dance off..the outcome will be very interesting although i think that alesha will get the judges vote

Oh I hope not. Because Gethin will probably go. And while i am no Gethin fan (i don't love anyone this year sadly)- he is far more consistant than Matt. Matt to go!

What Matt got last week was definitely sympathy votes but what Gethin gets tonight is justice votes.. They were severly undermarked

Gethin will be in the dance off. He was bottom of the leader board tonight meaning only the 1 point and lets say he does he got all the 3pts from public vote. He'll have 4pts and will be in the dance off. It just whether it will be Matt or Alesha and for gethin fans let's hope it's Matt.

No, not necessarily. if Gethin gets 3 points, Matt 2 and Alesha 1, they'll all have 4 points and Gethin will go thru because viewers points count for more.

I really would disagree with Gethin being undermarked tonight. He got a 10 from Len for his Paso which wasnt anything near perfect...

I agree LucyKay, nobody else seems to be talking about the points, but the judges points are: Alesha 3, Matt 2, Gethin 1

As a Gethin fan I am hoping for the public vote to be:
Gethin 3, Alesha 2, Matt 1 - a Gethin/Matt dance off
or
Gethin 3, Matt 2, Alesha 1 - all three of them will have 4 points in which case presumably its Gethin/Matt also isnt it ?????

Either way surely it got to be Gethin/Matt, hasnt it?????
In which case if Matt does his over-marked waltz (IMHO) Gethin doesnt stand a chance......

Why would Gethin get a sympathy vote??? He didn't forget his dance routine and his scores were about right... We're going to vote for him because we believe he's better then Matt, our opinon... Whats with all the hostility tonight...

It could be an Alesha/Matt dance off if the public vote goes like the one i put in bold in your post! If they all have 4pts and Gethin gets the full 3pts from the public vote. He'll go through to the final. But i think the first scenario is more likely.

After last week's sympathy vote I think this could be the case, it's sad really, Alesha should never be in the dance since she is so good.

The Dance off should be the two lads, for the first time this season I have voted for Alesha just because A) I want her to win B) keep her OUT of the dance off.

Alesha got higher than Matt. This is a FACT! Alesha or Gethin came top.

If it were just billed as a popularity contest with a bit of dancing thrown in, it would be unfair. However, it is billed as a dance contest with a public vote, and all the judges score as they think fit. On that basis, its not unfair. We all know, before we pick up the phone that the judges score is weighted against the public vote, then the bottom two are in a dance off. I kicked off last (though not as much as some) week about Alesha being in the bottom two, but I shouldn't have kicked off, simply because we choose to vote or not vote, but our vote is one or slightly more among hundreds of thousands, all of whom have different agendas. On the night the judges make a judgement about the dance off. I think I kicked off last week mostly because I couldn't fathom why Alesha didn't get the public support, not because there is a dance off to be done.

It was a sympathy vote for Matt last week because he messed up both dances, so not to be in the dance off he certainly didn't get the votes for his dancing, whereas Gethin didn't mess up at all.

Gethin was bottom of leaderboard so was even if he got 10 billion votes he couldn't have gone through without dance-off.

Why should we have a dance off on semi finals night. I can only assume the judges are desperate for Alesha to win - which is certainly the right result - which is why they put Matt through as Gethin would have been more competition for her as he is more consistent!

He could have if Alesha had been at the bottom of the public vote, actually.

The only fact we know about the voting last night is that Alesha got more votes than Matt otherwise matt would ahve gone through and Alesha would have been in the dance off. Gethin could have quite conceivably come first, second or even last with the public and since the BBC don't release the figures we will never know which is correct.

I was convinced until I saw the spoiler that it would be a Gethin/Alesha dance off but apparently her public support came back up/dramatically increased this week and I was very relieved.

I voted for her. That must have been what did did it. Yep.
