The show deserves Leon as the winner. Rhydian's too good for them and Cowell. I hope Rhyd signs with someone else

I have slagged Leon off throughout the series but tonight he was fantastic and thoroughly deserved to win.
The duet with Kylie was great too.
Well done, Son

I dont no why it really matters to him though, if he wants Rhydian to have a contract he can just give him a contract.

Can you blame him? He knows that classical stars sell shotloads of albums (Il Divo and Paul Potts for example). Leon will be a one hit winder, he is unmarketable.

Cowell looked gutten when Leon won
I also noticed the muted way in which his name was announced by Dermot.

He was very good on You Don't Know Me but all his other performances were dire. The performance with Kylie was particularly embarrassing. For both of them as Kylie was awful too and she looked dreadful. Ridiculous for a woman her age.

I dont no why it really matters to him though, if he wants Rhydian to have a contract he can just give him one.
What are you suggesting? I think you're confusing Simon with Louis.

I'm still trying to understand why someone who has been classically trained needs to win the X Factor to be able to have a career. Leon deserved it more IMO.

I doubt it, infact I think it's been more 'geared' to Leon winning. Duetting with Michael Bublé and Kylie Minogue? Ray being dropped just before the show? If Cowell plays this right, and snags a duet with Michael Bublé on an album - he'll do very well. Just with Il Divo and G4, you don't need to be in the charts week in and week out in order to be top of your game.

In all fairness, all three of the finalists are going to go far in their respective fields. Rhydian will sell (probably) millions of records, Same Difference will be Kings and Queens of the children's television market, and Leon may well just be the next swing star.

I just hate all the 'awful winner' stuff - who cares that your favourite didn't win? Give Leon a chance, the show's over and all three are going to get their chances to shine. Leon deserved the win since his performances tonight were very good - but give him a chance. No point in shooting him down before he's even 'made' it.

Don't you mean Kylie was great?
They put leon with Kylie so you would be too intent on watching her to notice how dire leon was.

Well done, Kylie!

Sadly ,he'll probably never make it.
He'll have one single then slide back into obscurity where he belongs.
He hasn't the talent to sustain it...just like Michelle McMuffinhead.

Many people have vocal or stage training but very few of those get the breaks. You've got to take them where you find them.

I take that 5 years' training thing the other way.... It shows someone is dedicated and willing to live for (and learn) their music, rather than fritter away their time in a clothes shop.

Rhydian will sign with Syco. Given the success of Il Divo and even Paul Potts, it's probably the best place for him and he's far better suited to Syco than Leon is.

In my drunken stupor I misread that as unremarkable.

Hence we are both right. Unremarkable and unmarketable.

What the heck happened there ?

Leon hit a lot of bum notes tonight, especially in that awful WYB. Also have to say Kylie's outfit was horrific

Then again I hated Katherine Jenkins too.

Long term Rhydian will be more successful.

No wonder he was gutted. For once Simons Cowells chosen one didn't win. That's the first time since Will Young won that the public went against him.

Leon probably couldnt afford 5 years training at a fancy music college.

Leon's 18, Rhydian's 24 - Leon only entered the X Factor to gain some experience. Give the boy some credit FGS - he's done amazingly well and he's a credit to his family. How do you know how dedicated he's going to be over the next 5 years?

Imagine that: Rhydian trains in singing for 5 years;

Leon gets into singing at the start of the year and by the end of the year wins X-factor. Must be something going for him.
