I'm with you - he was robbed - no chance that Matt will win next week thank goodness!

Gethin was, IMO, unfortunate in that he didn't have a dance in his stronger discipline tonight. After giving Matt 40 for his waltz, Gethin would've had to really go some to beat that in a dance off. If he had had a Ballroom dance it would've been a MUCH closer fight.

The dance off this week was not a good idea, and I said it from the moment we heard about it, precisely for this reason, that people will accpe their fave being voted out by the public but being voted out by the judges sucks. In that, all Gethin fans have my sympathy.

This thread has nothing to do with Alesha- they have overmarked all of the last three at some time in the series and Alesha was not top last week and was the underdog- including on the betting sites- for most of the week.

I don't think it's tantrums - it's the manipulation of the voting system to make sure certain dancers get through. There was such favouritism it was sickening. Speaking as a neutral it was a poor show tonight.

I think this ranks up there with nuclear disarmament, cod fishing rights and equal rights for ethnic minorities. Definitely a march on No10!!

His Paso was pretty bad, his Argentine Tango was about as good as everyone else's. Alesha was always going to go through and Matt's Waltz was amazing. How is the result remotely unfair?

Gethin was the worst dancer tonight. And after the 40 given to Matt on the show i am not surprised Gethin went.

There was no way that the judges would have undermined themselves and kicked off Matt after giving him all 4 10's.

If Gethin had performed better it would have been a different story but he didn't. Only has himself to blame.

footygirl, your posts everywhere tonight seem to be a vendetta against Matt. While I understand Gethin fans' disappointment, and am disappointed for him, you just have to accept - shock horror - that people have different opinions. Matt had a shocking week last week, fact. Matt had a great week this week, subjective. Matt deserved to go through tonight, subjective. You can agree or disagree but it doesn't make it "wrong" or "right", or anything to petition against the Beeb about.

It's these kind of things that give all Gethin fans a bad name, when most of them are sorely disappointed but not going around throwing tantrums.

One thing I absolutely disagree with is people saying that Matt is a rubbish dancer. He has done two rubbish dances, yes, but people can see from his salsa/American Smooth/quickstep/waltz etc that he is a good dancer and on par with Gethin and Alesha.

Your opinion, which you are entitled to. However, it might be worth noting that Matt has produced some very good dances throughout the series (e.g. his American Smooth and salsa) and got good marks for them. He also outdanced Gethin tonight, fair and square. Personally, I think that having given Matt the full 40 for his waltz, the judges were hardly going to turn round and vote for Gethin, who found himself outdanced by both Matt and Alesha tonight.

Just worth keeping in mind before you storm the BBC studios, grab the producers by the short and curlys, and demand that Gethin be reinstated. Good luck with that, by the way. You'll need it.

I didn't think Gethin's waltz deserved 39 out of 40 myself, others don't think Alesha's deserved her tens

to say that Gethin was treated worse than any of the other contestants who have been voted out is bizarre!

What a very good post! can't believe some of the posts towards Matt, him and Gethin seem to get on very well and I bet Gethin would be embarrassed at some of the posts towards Matt because he beat Gethin fair and square.

Thank goodness for common sense. No matter how much it matter to anyone (and I'm tempted to wonder how much else there is in their life) there is no need for the ridiculously over the top responses in this thread.

The time for people power was earlier on in the evening when the audience could ring in and save Gethin if they wanted to. They did not so he was in the dance off. What more do you want?
