I agree about the overmarking of other contestants as well. I couldnt give a damn about Gethin as a contestant. He wasnt a favourite of mine. I dont have a particular favourite this seies.I am just concerned about the way the judges have messed up a once great show. Thats all!

The vast majority of Matt fans would be perfectly civil about it, actually - we would obviously love it if Matt wins but we also think that Alesha would be a much deserved winner and would definitely not be bitter if she wins.

Yeah as a Matt fan I'll also be made up if she wins. I'd have been made up if Gethin had won. All three semi finalists are wonderful.

Another Matt fan here (who put in a vote for Alesha tonight as I have several times in past weeks).

I don't know how I'll vote next week. I'll have to see when we get there.

Having given Matt 40, the judges engineered a situation in which Gethin knew he was already bottom of the leader board,and any score, including 40 would not have been good enough to get past Bottler Matt.

Pity, we now have the most one-sided final since Natasha v Chris, but that's what the judges wanted.

:yawn::yawn: As you keep saying- do you know this as fact? There has been nothing clear cut about the viewer vote this series so give it a rest. Alesha is deserving of her place- I think most people would agree.

That's fair enough and the judges scores have been all over the shop this series, starting with Bruno's 10 for Brendan and Kellys illegal lift. I just take it as part of the show now. The thing that's annoying me though, and this isn't directed at yourself, is that all this uproar is only as a result of Gethin (the new 'Golden Boy') going. There have been times when Matt has been undermarked (not just according to his fans) yet there was no "let's protest at the unfairness" type situation. Everyone elses fans seem to have accepted the judges dodgey markings until tonight. It's no wonder it's coming across as sour grapes.

This results happened pruely because the judges would like Alesha to win. Gethin would have been the only person to rival her in the final imo.

Think about the only time recently that Alesha hasn't been no 1 with the judges she was in the bottom 2. So my over marking her and Matt tonight put Gethin in bottom 2 and an excuse to get rid of him. Complete fix.

I honestly never thought I would witness something as bad, embarassing or absurd as some of the posts/ behaviour/ ideas that have been posted on here tonight.

So its a fix eh? Surprisingly I think not- I think that its a competition and that someone must go home whether their fans like it or not.

I hated that Colin lost- did I shout fix, complain, be a general bad loser? No. Accepted it. grumbled quietly to self and moved on because thats what adults do.

But WOULD Gethin have been the only person to rival her in the final? I'd be SHOCKED if anyone could look at it objectively and say that Gethin was as good as Matt tonight, which means that tonight Matt was closer to beating Alesha than Gethin was. Why could that not occur again in the final?

I agree Colin should have won - but that was before the nonsense of this bottom 2 and the judges voting off. The GBP were at fault that night.

Tonight and may other nights the judges have been rather strange voting this year.

As much as I hate the X Factor I do think that they have got the balance right with the judges vote at the end.

Would be really interesting to see if it would have made a difference? I know we won't.

As I have said before the only dance that was comparable tonight was the AT and Gethin's was better imo (and the judges)

I suppose it was a daft idea glancing at a thread entitled " We have got to do something"and not expecting it to be about tonights result. Maybe I shouldnt have had that last beer.

Well, if doing different dances mean that the contestants become incomparable, there wouldn't be much point in doing them! This (the fact that they all had different dances) has been in operation for many weeks now, but it didn't stop people comparing each celeb.

The fact that a walz was compared against a paso seemed a little unfair, just my oppinion though.

His Paso was awful. All his other dances over rated.

Me too. It just shows what a useful word "spoiler" can be.

Have another look at the first 30 seconds of Matt's AT. To say it was wooden would be an insult to mahogany.

I agree that it is hard to judge who's better in two different dances. But I don't think Gethin was particularly at a disadvantage with the paso - if he had nailed it, I think it would have had more of a wow factor than the more tranquil and gentle waltz.

Thanks for this brilliant thread, everyone! Have not laughed so hard for a while. I second the idea to burn bras. Or perhaps knickers? Not that I would join in, will watch at home on telly though. It should make a lovely little news story!

I do recommend directing some of the energy elsewhere - last time I checked the climate change is still a huge issue, and poverty in some developing countries are appalling, also some countries are still fighting for democracy, and there are still a lot of incurable diseases in the world.

But I can see that getting Gethin in the final is a great cause for some of his fans. Good luck on that.
