I dont post that much on here now for that very reason, I only came on this thread just to look at what the title meant.
My credentials, well they have been declared on other more sensible threads, but since you have asked I dont have a partner right now, but have had. I am currently taking Silver medals in Ballroom and Latin. Doesnt make me an expert and I dont pretend to be unlike yourself.
You will never change the way people post on this forum, best thing is to just walk away if the only thing you can offer is an insult.

What about one of those lovely ladies who were on ITT last week? One of them was Peggy Spencer, can't remember the other one's name but they are both ballroom experts, and seemed really nice people. I reckon they would judge fairly and not make nasty personal attacks on the contestants.

I agree with posters who are fed up with the nonsense we get from the judges. All four of them. I particularly don't like the offensive way they talk to the celebs. Or Len's patronising tone. Bruno is becoming more and more hysterical with each show and Arlene's favouring "her boys" is embarrassing. Craig must be one of the most offensive people on tv. They are all becoming caricatures of themselves. Time for a change?

I quite agree - I watch the show as an entertainment programme but I no longer find Len's offensive attitude towards the other judges entertaining in the slightest.

Craig does at least have some integrity in his marking and now he has all but eliminated his very personal and offensive comments to the dancers and celebs is the one I listen to most.

With regards to my qualifications I (admitedly quite some years ago) go to the point where I had to make a decision about going Pro or staying amateur -I chose the latter but still dance just for fun.

To resolve the problem between an entertainment show (SCD) and a proper dance competition Auntie should bring back the proper Come Dancing for those of us who would prefer it.

As for the result on the other side, in my TV mag (that comes with the paper,) printed days before the final, it said the winner of X Factor will be singing a duet with Kylie Minogue! How the h*** did they know that? Sure makes you wonder about the public vote, don't it?!

Len and the rest of the judges.

They are all an absolute disgrace.

They are rude, ignorant (of each other) and a terrible example of adults to children who watch!

Personally, over the previous series I have found the judges to be rather good. Len always seemed to be more sympathetic to those who had no chance but it didnt result in anything outrageous.
I do think this series, things have got a little out of hand. The 10 score has been devalued, Len and Bruno awarding scores purely from emotion(Bruno) or pigheadedness(Len). I am no dancing expert but I thought it strange that Matts "perfect" score enabled him to beat Gethin by one point overall. Craig appeared to be looking for a way to give his dust covered 10 an outing.
Overall it seems the BBC have been watching too much X Factor as the judges bickering is very much Cowell/Osboune/Walsh esque. I think everyone needs to sit down and have a quiet chat before next series. SCD is the best in light entertainment, it would be a shame to lose that.

But it seems to get the viewers and ratings are important for any TV company.


It is a great show but this series has been seriously flawed. I'd love it to be back next year with some of the more glaring problems overcome.

Online petitions are utterly useless, so I wouldn't waste your time signing it.

Yes, Len has devalued the 10, and yes, Craig has undervalued it. But let's be realistic here - injustices have been clear since the beginning of the series, when true contenders such as Penny and Gabby were voted out, ahead of those who wouldn't make the final such as Kate and Kenny.

And based on last night's dances, Matt was the better. His Waltz was fantastic, yet Gethin's Paso was underpar. I thought he performed a great Argentine Tango, yet it wasn't enough to save him in the end.

The problem for Matt will be coping with the five dances next week. But therein lies a central problem with the show - the dance-off. I believe it is better than purely leaving it to the public vote, yet there HAS to be a set guideline as to what it is judged on. The dance? The couple? The potential? If the BBC can have some firm words with the judges and sort that out once and for all, then it will make next series that much better.
