I have an 18month old LGL32X2R lcd tv which has just developed grey shadows in various parts of the screen. They are at their most noticeable when im watching football against the green background. The tv has been fine untill this problem developed can anyone help please .

Is it like dust or dirt inside the screen?, if so it could be just that - LCD screens aren't sealed - if anyone smokes in the room that's a prime cause, smoking kills TV's as well as people.

i dont think its dust although iwilll not rule that out. If you are watching fast moving football and fix your line of sight at one of the grey areas they appear to move with the camera . also they are hardly noticable when watching anything other than football although you can see them if you concentrate. A better way to describe their shape would be like the marks left behind if water had been running down a window not straight but reasonabbly straight and not all the way down the screen. weird

Ive seen this before on some cheap sets (i.e. Grey market crap.) and on a philips on the philips it turned into two full "Grey" lines all the way down the screen seperating the screen into three portions. Anyway do the lines seem to run between the pixels all most like some one has ran a pencil down between them?

the grey areas are quite wide about 4mm and are not uniform in shade there are 4 in total 2 in the centre part of the screen running from the top of the screen to three quarters down the other two are just as wide and run down about one third. One thing i did do recently was leave the sky sports multi screen on for about 15 minutes and when i changed channels you could see the multi channel screen inprinted on the screen although this did fade after half an hour. Iwas told that lcd screens do not suffer from screen burn . it was plasma and crt sets that were susceptable to this but i think this is where my problems started.
