In our house it was a win/win situation.

House full of Scots Rangers fans, therefore if Leon wins we would be glad for him.

But everyone of us thought Rhydian was the better singer, and with him giving money to an autism charity (close to our heart), then he would be a worthy winner.

For those reasons, none of us voted, or put a bet on.

Then Simon had his 'freudian slip', and went on about it being Rhydian's LAST performance.

Everyone of us thought that he had been tipped off of the result and Leon had won.

I jumped onto Betfair and got 4/1 Leon, just before others got the same idea and the price fell.

Cheers Simon, I'll send you a couple of quid for a pint

I'm sure he was tipped off.

He said himself on ITV2 that it was the Leon last VT that swung it.

If they had told him Rhydian had won out of sight, his closing remarks to him would have sounded stupid.

Leon was 9-1 at 8pm - some of us were a bit more far sighted!

You got lucky. It was no certainty. You could easily of lost your money. Also I dread to think how much has been lost by people betting on Rhydian.

Well done

I was convinced that Sd would be second to Rhydian after the papers going on this morning about a huge betting plunge on them.

Didn't even look at the odds until Mr Cowell gave the game away.

Good idea, I probably should have.

When he said "Freudian Slip" I thought it gave the game away.

Hundreds of thousands.

was as low as 1/5 in some places.

Plus loads of doubles with the Welsh lad on Stricktly.

Basically, Simon was sitting (with a face like thunder) thinking about his new signing and it got all confused when he started talking to Rhydian.

Well I only bet £10 - not my life savings! Given the odds though - Leon was so far behind SD at one stage and Rhydian seemed a certainty - I was amazed when Leon won. I thought I'd lost until there was a massive surge in Leon's odds at about 9.15pm (obviously someone with inside knowledge had placed a wager!

Sharon did say a few weeks ago that Leon was the 'dark horse' in the competition. It's about the only thing she's got right for a long time

And some of us . cough cough (me) said Leon would win despite his dire mess up performance in week 1.

And got 14.5 odds on him then

plus 9.8 earlier on betfair.

As I had a feeling he would win.

POCKETED £920 WINNINGS TONIGHT. THANKS LEON!!!

However I did think Rhydian would be eliminated first in a shock elimination and come 3rd.

With Same Difference coming 2nd (even though I don't personally like them. thought loads of kids would pick up phone for them)

This year

week 1 - only backed kimberly to go at 10/1 on betfair. Won £100 back.

Week 2- Backed Leon to Win at 14.5 odds
Also Backed Daniel only to go at 16 odds - Daniel Went £320 profit

Week 3 - Backed Futureproof to go at 30 odds and Same Difference at 2.4 odds - futureproof went - Winnings £150 - 10 lost - £140 Profit

Week 4 - Backed Andy at 4.4 odds and Bev at 12 odds Andy went - £44.0 - £5 - £39 Profit

Week 5 - Same Difference only to go at 2.2 odds - Lost £20

Week 6 - Voted Bev to go at 4 odds only - Won £40

Week 7 - Didn't Bet

Week 8 - Knew Nicki was going was very certain at 2.8 odds. Won £28

Week 9 - Backed Rhydian to be 9th eliminated at 15 odds - Lost £20
Leon to Win again at 9.8 odds (other 14.5 odds earlier this series aswell) won £920

Excellent stuff.

My best ever was £50 @ 4/1 Will Young at Wm Hills on the morning of Pop Idol Final.

Showed my mate the slip in the pub. He took it off me, showed everyone it, slagged me off, then said he would give 20/1 Will Young.

Had another score @ 20s with him, and so did half the pub.

He paid everyone out with cheques (that didn't bounce ) the next day Daft bassa

Simon said Leon's name to Rhydian because he was thinking about Leon, and how his version of When You Believe was better. A bit like calling out the wrong name in bed.
