I recently bought a Pure ONE - around £50 in the shops, and its a brilliant wee thing. Comes complete with mains adaptor (quite important as DAB radios seem to be heavier on power than the old analogue ones) - and a two year guarantee.

It has excellent sound quality, albeit mono, and has a nice clear display - easy to use too, so intuitive that I doubt the manual would need to be read to be able to use it fully.

The Roberts ones (as seen on last week's The Gadget Show) come well for good battery life and sound quality but we really need to know a bit more about how it will be used: Standalone or plumbed into a stereo? Fixed location or portable? Manly used on the mains or battery driven? With FM (and AM) or without? With trick modes (pause and record)?

Used mainly on batteries as its for his allotment and there is no power there.
