Does anyone know if you can 'wake up' a wap site by activating a RSS feed on a mobile device?

If as a business you have a WAP site, then you can send the consumer a push message, or sms, which enables you to notify the consumer that there is new content on the WAP site for them to view. What i wondered was whether you could simply update an RSS feed on a WAP site which would automatically 'take over' the phone directing the consumer to the site, or giving them the option of viewing it?
