Yes - but the public won't have the chance to really decide until the final night.

I think its appalling they have carried on with the judges vote until the semi final. You have removed all the poor performers by this stage so there should have been no dance off. Whoever was bottom overall in the public vote should have gone.

I am certainly rooting for Alesha, though adore Matt and liked Gethin.

I can't wait for next Saturday.

Am I the only one who gets fed up with this whole "It's a dance competition" thing. It never has been and never will be as long as there is a public vote. Check some of the comments in this thread and others about voting for a particular competitor multiple times to try and prevent another from going through.

What it should be, and I think is an entertainment competition which helps to raise a lot of money for Children in Need. You do not have to be the greatest technical dancer to be great to watch dance.

If it was a dance competition then neither of these two should be in the final as they have both commited the sin of forgetting their steps and both should have been marked down heavily by the judges for doing so. Alesha may have covered it up better, but the judges should have spotted it. It is difficult for the viewer to spot thanks to the ridiculous camera work they insist on using.

Having said all that it should be a great final, when they are both on form Matt and Alesha are great to watch and are good all round dancers with neither being much better at latin than they are at ballroom or vice versa.

So as it approaches can't people just stop the bitching and enjoy what should be a great entertainment show.

In my opinion, Alesha has proven time and time and time again that she is the best all round dancer of the series. I am once again pledging my support to her because I know I won't be disappointed with her performance come Saturday. I can't wait to see her five dances and will be recording them for prosterity.

Come on Alesha and Matthew!!!!

Why must the best dancer on a dance contest win? Erm, let me think..........oh yes, it might just be the fact that it is a dance contest.

Realistically, if the competition's aim is not for the best proven dancer to win, they might as well not bother to put in hours and hours of training and practice in order to perfect their routines. In fact, they might ALL just as well mess around the whole time, save their energy and depend solely on their existing fame and popularity to get them through.

And instead of putting time and effort into group dances they can just do the conga around the studio.

VOTE FOR MATT”

So far I haven't voted since Erin & Willie went - but the attitude of posters like the one quoted and some others with their pointed nastiness has just encouraged me to pick up the phone and rack up some votes for Alesha.

I honestly think that the Beeb could either have let them all go through on Sat - or not had the dance off and let the public have the final THEY wanted and paid good money to vote for.

I haven't had any strong favourites who have got me voting this season - but I do think on the basis of 11 weeks of consistently good performances (and getting undermarked herself in the early days) Alesha deserves to walk away with the title

I'm a Matt fan, but I wish Alesha all the best and I think she is truly outstanding. If she wins I will be more than happy. I just quoted your post, because I don't think that the majority of Matt fans have made bad remarks about Alesha. I'm sure there not very many. Compare that to the attacks and threads that have been started about Matt (not by Alesha fans I should add).

In my opinion we shouldn't slate any of the contestants, and this semi-final was fantastic.

No probs with you quoting me lach, it was just the tone of the post I quoted that got me angry - the OP stated this was a Pro Alesha thread and it wasn't necessary for a sneering reply!

Ages ago I predicted it would be a Kelly Matt and Alesha final - and had Kelly stayed in the show - I think that is what we would have now. Gethin was the dark horse to get as far as he did, and I'm under no illusions about the Satuday show - the judges had the order right on the dances performed (although I wouldn't have marked Matt so high on his waltz (it wasn't any better than Gethin's or Alesha's attempts - although it was as good as theirs!), nor on his AT which was definitely the weakest on the night despite Flavia! - In fact - I'd possibly have had the boys equally marked.

Good luck to both of them in the final - but as I said - Alesha's consistently excellent performances over the series must surely make her the favourite AND the most deserving winner.

Off to blow a bit more of my voting budget - and I DON'T CARE how she dances on the night - I'm judging her on her overall showing she can come on and dance with muppets or do a clog dance she's still the winner in my eyes - and I don't mind what anyone else thinks - that's my opinion.

Vote for whoever you like - but I am giving my vote to the best and most consistent dancer of the series.

All the people on these boards have made me want to vote for Matt more. Some of the comments towards Matt on these boards are terrible. This whole thread, for example, isnt nice towards Matt. It's not his fault the judges wanted him through. I love Alesha, i think she is wonderful aswell, and i totally agree that the Beeb should have let them all go through. I am a Matt fan, but would be just as pleased if Alesha wins. They have both done so well. Wishing Alesha all the best.

I am hoping and voting that the best dancer does win, and for me that person is Alesha with her partner Matthew who has given her the dancing skills to go with her lovely nature, enthusiam and personality. Good luck to the both of them.

Nonsense.

They still have to care about the judges' marks, & the public wouldn't back someone who didn't even try to improve their dancing & do well.

Even 'dance contest' doesn't say how we have to vote. We can vote most entertaining, most improved, one I happen to like best on the night, whatever.

You may scoff, but that situation could be a distinct possibility.

Can Matt learn five dances in a week?

Really....

And how exactly are the judges supposed to know a routine went wrong if the couple cover it up with perfectly viable steps? Since the judges don't do the choreography they'd be hard pressed to tell it went wrong unless you made it very obvious as Matt did!

It should be at heart a dance competition (with obviously many other elements coming in to play) and I for one am glad that the people with talent, skill and hard work generally do well and are rewarded. What a sad reflection on us it would be if only the crap dancers got the accolades and support.

Do the judges votes mean anything other than to point viewers in the direction of which way they think they should be voting?

Exactly how I felt, Mel - though I didn't scream. I might have a little belated scream now actually.

Some viewers said they could tell by the way Matt and Alesha were looking at each other, so the judges might too.
