Matt was REWARDED for having a bad week last week
That's how it seemed to me - all the judges did was praise him for his "comeback" so essentially he was rewarded for doing badly last week with overmarking this week.
It's like when you were in school and the naughty kids were sent to Alton Towers as a treat for being well behaved for most of term when all the good pupils are left behind in lessons with piles of homework. |

Matt was the best on the night in the judges opinion. Nothing more to say about it.

I'm complaining more about the fact he was chosen over Gethin to be in the final, when based on last week's performance he should've been out. It seems to me the judges can just chop and change between voting for a couple based on their overall performances and voting for them based on one good performance when it suits them. |

Exactly what I thought, they were so surprised he performed quite well that they all went overboard with four tens.
Are they really saying that the waltz they did last night was the best dance of the series so far. It was close but I thought Gethin deserved to be in the final, but in any case with 5 dances next week Alesha should win comfortably. Great series though with lots to discuss so far. |

Exactly and that is why the Gethin fans are so mad with the judges who overmarked him

He was saved by the public last week, and based on THIS WEEKS performance the judges chose to keep him in.

It didn't take you to show your fox tails? ![]() IMHO, he is NOT overmarked with his waltz. I think it's very moving and technically accomplished performance, one which I would never expected Matt to be able to pull off! I was astounded. I trust Craig's then more than you.

You're spot on there, that's exactly how it is. So if you have a bad week, and forget all your steps, if you dance ok the following week you get 10's. Never mind the poor couples who dance consistently well week after week, and remember their steps.

I'm allowed to create a pro Alesha thread and an anti Matt thread aren't I? I just didn't want to the two to mix.
Anyway, technically this is an anti judges thread - Matt didn't give himself those scores. |

Are they really saying that the waltz they did last night was the best dance of the series so far. The marking has been totally OTT this year, particularly from the usual suspects - naming no names.

I don't think Gethin deserves the ten for his paso at all! He would have been lucky to get 8 or even 9! So why no complaint over his overmarking then? Because he's been consistently above-average to very good for the past week? He didn't shine last night and that's a FACT. I am sure even Gethin agrees, though I see he's (and Camilla as well) gutted when he is voted out... |

I think so too - it was all about the comeback. If he'd danced quite well last week, would he really have gotten 40 for that waltz? It seemed to me that Matt had a shocking week last week and a good week this week, and is through to the final; Gethin had a brilliant week last week and a good week this week, and went out. Still, it pretty well ensures that Aleisha will win next week.

Matt's footwork in the dance off may be ok (at least he didn't forget) but his face, he was obviously thinking about what go next and not performing the dance. They have no emotional connection what so ever, even Matt's fans can tell I believe. I'm not surprise with Bruno and Len, who are pathetic, I'm just disappointed that Craig put him through over Gethin, and people were saying that Craig has been the best judge so far. It's absolutely disgraceful.

I tend to agree that Matt was (over)rewarded for his comeback.

No way did Matt deserve that OTT score - he was NOT foot perfect - and only a technically perfect performance should get such a score IMHO.

Couldn't agree more. The judges are meant to be professional and should judge everyone on the same level - taking that into account Alesha two dances should've had straight tens and probably at least one of Gethins too - at least compared with Matts.
