I think it means more to Camila then any other of the 6 that were left. When she did that interview about getting to the final just once you kind of guessed that it has been a long five years and maybe she would have retired had she won.

I feel really sad. Camilla so deserved to be in the final.

Camilla looked like she knew what was going to happen when they were standing there with Matt and Flavia before getting ready to dance again and during Len's comments.

I've just cried absolute buckets! And in my house, votes have been going to both Matt and Gethin.

I must admit to sheddin a few tears this evening, just felt so gutted for Gethin and Camilla, I so wanted them to make the final.

Lovely guy with a great attitude. Really am rather sad he won't be in the final.

Gethin has a prime time programme on New Year's Eve. He is co-presenting New Year Live from Somerset House at 11.10/12.10! Yippee!

just had to drop in and say how well I thought Gethin took his ousting.

He was gentlemanly, kind, well-mannered and lovely. And you could see he was choked on the dance floor.

I am an Alesha fan and do, I am sorry, think Matt di A is a slightly better dancer, so for me the result was right.

but I admired Gethin's professionalism immensely - and all of the 3 semi-finalists - it was lovely to see how much they all supported each other and got on.

We as their fans should have the grace to do the same.

If Matt beats Alesha in the final next week - I will be absolutely gutted and sob buckets - but I would go into the Matt thread and say well done.

He's very gracious of his 'defeat'. I don't think he's the loser at all! He's come far! Good for him and wish wedding bells soon for Gethin and Katherine and lots of ridiculously beautiful babies!

I'll put my hands up and say that I haven't been a massive fan of some of Gethin and Camilla's dances; but I've always thought that he came across as a genuinely nice guy and has obviously trained really hard, whilst doing the most punishing work schedule of all the semi-finalists and also seemed to have a genuine enjoyment of the whole SCD experience. That being said, Gethin's really gone up in my estimation shed loads over the weekend. I did feel the judges were unjustly harsh on him, he was doing two very difficult dances and once they'd given Matt D the 4x10s( not justified in my humble), it was obvious he would be bottom of the leaderboard. I thought he danced the AT with much more emotion in the dance off and found myself feeling far more upset about him leaving than I thought I would be. Supremely gracious in defeat, indeed before the dance -off, when he must have been feeling incredibly nervous, the first thing Gethin did was to hug Alesha and Matt. And poor Camilla, she did look devastated. Knowing how SCD operates they'll probably give her a no hope partner next year, so this could have been her best shot at the final. Poor love, she worked very hard and clearly loved her partnership with Gethin.

I can also understand the frustration of some of the Gethin fans. Looking at all the possible permutations of the public vote, Alesha must have come first or second; and certainly has earned one of the two places in the final, with the public. Matt D could only have come second or third. So Gethin could possibly have topped the public vote and still finds himself out. That's rough.

So well done Gethin and Camilla, sorry I was a tad dismissive of your dances during the series ( although I did really, really really like the waltz, last week). You brought great dignity and quiet determination to the show and equitted yourselves extremely well.

I'm looking forward to the final *whispers* come on Alesha and Matthew C ; but commiserate with the Gethin fans too.

Sad fact is, the pair of them should've still been in the show this weekend.

Poor Camilla looked heartbroken, but you could tell they both knew it was coming.

I shed a few tears - had really wanted an Alesha/Gethin final. So sad for Camilla and so, so sad for Gethin. Don't know what to say really that won't annoy Matt fans but I'm still surprised at how the whole thing panned out.

I've eulogised about Gethin over on the Vincent thread but just wanted to add my support - he was a complete gentleman tonight and I predict a very bright BBC future for him Deservedly so! Poor Camilla Fabulous semi-final, with three worthy semi-finalists. Am a Flavia (via Vincent) fan, but feel Alesha and Matt C actually deserve to win - altho', with Flavia's unique choreography talents, Anything Could Happen !

Biggest upset in my house was from my 7 year old son... as boyish as a boy his age could be... its all trains and Land Rover on his wall... But he was sobbing his heart out for Gethin loosing. Big tears while hiding in his favorite hoodie top.
It seems that Gethin has touched a few hearts.

Gethin was a proper gent indeed today.
