I'm going to our annual SCD Final party (for which we drive just over 100 miles - madness!) but I'll probably watch Alesha and Matthew's dances then retire to the Conservatory in between times.

I understand there may be some Matt D supporters present, so I'll keep my opinions to myself.

Even though Alesha will wipe the floor with Matt D, the chances of her winning are??

I am so excited, that's if I end up going, my mum's friend bought 6 on Ebay so we are waiting to see how many tickets are left over, but it's looking good

You'd have done better to replace it with the word "and", but i've seen worse attempts Mr Pratchett

BB - hope they went well. I have great admiration for anyone who goes into nursing. Really hope they went OK and you get the results asap. xxxx

Nope. I'd already used 'and' between Alesha & Matt & I wanted a pause, but not a full-stop.

The point I was making to La Boheme is that it is incredibly rude to correct someone's spelling on a message board.

I am a professional writer (obviously not fluent in French) and I would never do that. Not everyone has the same standard of literacy and I think everyone should feel free and confident to post on this site!

The only reason I pointed out the clumsy use of punctuation by this poster this time was I was irritated by the person trying to make me look small.

At least Alesha will have an excuse for making her mark up the judges table when Moaning Sad Puppy Dog Eyes gets 40 again.

Poor BB - are you feeling better now? I did a really important promotions board once when I was really unwell and sailed through it because I was too hacked off to be nervous!!!! (Always my undoing in the past!)

I was very unhappy with tonight's results. Felt Gethin had earnt his place in the final.

Ofgs - take it in the spirit intended ie light-hearted. I'm not remotely offended by you commenting on my punctuation, and I don't regard it as you trying to make me look small.

But in broader terms this country's literacy skills are dire & if no-one corrects anyone's spelling it will only get worse. People are welcome to correct mine...

I`ll be sat on the sofa......phone unplugged.....so no one can tempt me out the house.....like last year.....and oh boy did I pay the price after being persuaded to miss last years final for what was meant to be a quick Christmas drink with friends....quick my arse. I was not a well boy on the Sunday.(spell check please)

Next Saturday is a big day, not for SCD though. We'll probably have a big party at home or at friend's or all go out for a nice meal. With this unfair judges and format SCD is least of my concern I'm afraid.

I missed the Christmas special last year which was far worse than missing the final. It took me ages to find someone who'd recorded it...

I've found in the last few years that my ability to correctly use punctuation has completely vamooshed, seemingly with the onset of middle age.

I never used to have a problem with there their they're, or using commas. But now I often manage to flummox myself and have to think really hard before typing or writing.

Back to bear school I think.
